It is amazing how the Lord comes to our level to relate with us concerning His Word and promises for our lives, with all manner of supportive evidences. If He simply said it and left us to choose for ourselves whether to believe or not; it would have still been glorious. He would still be the Faithful God that He is.
The mere fact that He has spoken would have still been good enough for us. We however see God always coming to us at the point of our need and at the level of our understanding, seeking to assure us and encourage our hearts that He will do what He has said He will do. AWESOME GOD, MIGHTY GOD!
The Psalmist proclaimed in Psalm 121:1 “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord Which made the heavens and the earth”. God instructs us and He goes on to help us to obey His Word. He does not stand to watch us fail. He upholds us in the truth and He comes with every evidence you can imagine, in a bid to bolden our hearts to hang on to the point of testimony.
When the angel of the Lord appeared to Mary with the message that she was going to conceive and bring forth a son, who shall be the Savior of the world; Mary couldn’t comprehend all that the Lord was saying through the angel. As confused as she was, she asked the angel “How shall this thing be, seeing I know not a man”? The angel told her of how the Spirit of God was going to come upon her and the power of the highest would overshadow her. Instead of getting to understand, she became more confused; but, bless God, He will never leave us confused.
The angel rolled out a supportive evidence which Mary couldn’t withstand or resist. It was something she could relate with. He told her of how her cousin Elizabeth, who was called barren had conceived and it was the sixth month with her, whose situation had been tagged impossible. The same power that did it for Elizabeth was the same power coming alive in her situation. With such a supportive evidence; she couldn’t help but scream,-
“Behold the handmaid of the LORD, be it unto me according to Thy Word” Luke 1:38. Isn’t the LORD good? For every Word God has given to you, for every promise He has made; if you will be careful enough to look, you will find a supportive evidence that God is not kidding. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If He did it before, He will do it again.
