Today while I was meditating on the word of God, the following biblical portion caught my attention: “29 As the crowd grew, Jesus began to say to them:“ This is an evil generation. He asks for a miraculous sign, but no sign will be given but Jonah. 30 Just as Jonah was a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of man be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will rise on the day of judgment and condemn these people; because she came from the ends of the earth to hear Solomon's wisdom, and here you have one greater than Solomon. 32 The Ninevites will rise on the day of judgment and condemn this generation; because they repented when they heard Jonah preaching, and here you have one greater than Jonah. Luke 11: 29-32 New International Version (NIV) ” .

Why did these biblical passages catch my attention? Simply because it adapts to the reality of our days.
There are many religions in the world and they all want to talk about God in their own way and they all want to make signs to show that they are the true religions that lead to God.
People entertain themselves in their religions waiting for miracles to occur in order to believe in God. All these events are used by Satan to deceive man and enslave him in idolatry. Unfortunately, many religious leaders are entangled in their lofty doctrines that sooner or later will give an account before God for their errors and deceptions with which they have guided their followers.
Jesus in his time, alerted the people of that generation, whom he called bad, because if they did not see signs, then they did not believe.
Jesus was very strict in this teaching, it is not required to see so much to believe in God. In those times Jesus had done so many signs that people kept asking for miracles to believe that He was the Messiah, the one sent from God.
Both the religious leaders and the people were filled with spiritual blindness because they did not give themselves the opportunity to believe that Jesus was God and was greater than Solomon and Jonah.
The queen of the south moved from one end of the earth to come to hear Solomon's wisdom and marvel at him, without the need to see miracles. The prophet Jonah entered the city of Nineveh with a single message, which was that if the citizens of Nineveh did not repent, God would destroy the city in 40 days. The people heard Jonah's message and believed in God without the need to see miracles.
This sign of Jonah is the one that Jesus told the wicked generation that it is the only one they would have, that is, they must believe in God, without the need to see.
This is the same sign for this time, it is not required to see signs of what God is doing today, it is required to believe in the word of God and convert to Christ to receive forgiveness of sins and salvation.
