Take time for personal devotion

The Christian who does not pray harbors defeat.

Since I was converted to Christ, I have taken an important time in my life to be alone with God. Personal devotion is key to leading a very successful spiritual life.

The Lord Jesus always developed his devotions very early in the morning because he knew that in intimacy with the Father, he received the revelation of his will.

In the same way, the Lord Jesus taught his disciples that it was necessary to lead a devotional life, but not a religious one like the Pharisees did in order to be seen by the people. The Lord Jesus recommended to his disciples that they should look for a secluded place to have intimacy with God and not be seen on the street corners praying and repeating vain words, because that was religiosity,

5»When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray standing up in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men; I swear you that the have already got their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you in public. 7 “And when praying do not use vain repetitions, like the Gentiles, who think that because of their talk they will be heard. 8 Therefore do not become like them, because your Father knows what things you need before you ask him. Matthew 6: 5-8

Personal devotion is a moment of intimacy with God, Jesus said: “But you, when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you in public ”.

Jesus recommends a place that is very secret, like your room and that you also close the door.

When there is intimacy with God, no one should interrupt, it is a very secret conversation between you and the heavenly Father. That's what personal devotion is all about, taking very important time each day and looking for the most secret place we have to be intimate with the heavenly Father.

If you have not yet begun to develop the practice of personal devotion, wait no longer and start now.
