Never heard of this. So it's kind of like a Prom? Here in the US, a fifteen-year-old is considered very much a child and will not be considered a "young woman" for years more. Glad you enjoyed your celebration! :)

No, it is not a graduation, it is something like the celebration of sweet 16.
