Planning and Preparation🫶🏻

Months of excitement led up to our well-organized trip to Moalboal. We chose the destination, set the date, and made sure everything was ready. With our sinking fund and careful budgeting, each of us had ₱1,200 to spend, ensuring a stress-free journey.

The day before departure, we secured a comfortable two-room booking at FFG Eden Resort and gathered all the groceries and supplies we needed. Renting a pickup truck made it easy to transport our luggage and provisions. It will also lessen the hassle for us.

The Journey Begins🎣

On the morning of our trip, we gathered at Kate’s house to pack up and prepare our meals. The pickup truck arrived at 8:30 AM, and by 10:30 AM, we were on the road to Moalboal. We spent the ride catching up, sharing stories, and looking forward to our destination.

Stopping for Lunch in Barili🥡

After a couple of hours on the road, we already entered Barili, and we decided to stop near Shamrock Pension House to have lunch because our tummies can’t take it anymore. We are all starving, so Sir Mandal bought 2 whole chickens in Chooks To Go and “hanging rice” or poso. We pray first before eating, it becomes silent when everyone is eating, especially if the foods are all delicious.

We enjoyed Chooks To Go chicken with "poso" (hanging rice) and "guso" (sea moss) that is seasoned perfectly by vinegar, onion, and many more aromatics. It was a satisfying meal that fueled us for the rest of the journey. We took a rest for a moment before continuing the ride to Moalboal. Luis is our driver since he has a lot of experience in driving, and we can also lessen the expenses.

Arrival at FFG Eden Resort📍

After a few more hours of travel, we finally arrived at FFG Eden Resort in Moalboal. Sir Mandal already took charge of asking about our booking and rooms; after that, they also explained to us their rules at the resort, and we understood everything properly.

We headed to the first room, which is good for 5 packs, so we immediately decided that we would take that room for us girls since we are 5; the first room is called “Lumod Suite.” We headed to the second room next, which is the big one, which is good for 8 packs, and the boys would take it since they are 6; the second room is called “Butanding Suite.” It all sounds cute.

We first arranged and organized our things and the foods before enjoying them. After organizing everything, we decided to take a rest first. We are all excited to sleep on our rooms: the cozy "Lumod Suite" for the girls and the spacious "Butanding Suite" for the boys, both named with a touch of charm.

Settling In and Evening Delights🌆

Once settled in our rooms, we unpacked and relaxed for a bit. Later, we changed into comfortable clothes and explored the resort, enjoying the beach and poolside views. After taking some photos and a short tour, we all decided to head back to the big room and cook the dinner early since it would also take a lot of time. We already planned the foods we are going to eat from breakfast to dinner.

Evening Activities and Heartfelt Conversations💌

For dinner, we grilled "Bangus" (milkfish) and made a hearty chicken soup with moringa, known as "kinamunggayan nga manok" in Bisaya. I volunteered to help with grilling, while the others also volunteered to do other things. We have enjoyed grilling because we share some funny stories and talk about random things.

When the fish, soup, and rice are all ready, we immediately prepare the table for dinner. When the table and foods are ready, we pray and immediately start eating since we planned to go swimming after. As usual, we enjoyed the food so much, and our tummies are all satisfied again. It hits differently when you and your friends, or the people you already considered as your second family, eat together.

After eating, we clean the table and wash the dishes. When everything is clean, we take a rest since we are still full and some of us are arranging our things. When the rest was over, we immediately changed into our swimming attire.

Before getting into the pool, the boys tried playing billiards, and me and Memay played basketball together with Clark and Hanz. After that, we headed to the pool and excitedly jumped. The pool is really cool since it has a light that will change colors. We played games and danced, and we are really enjoying the pool and each other’s company.

As the evening progressed, we showered and gathered for heartfelt conversations about our futures. We acknowledged that soon we would be heading off to college and Sir Mandal would be moving to Japan for a new opportunity. Emotions ran deep as we expressed our gratitude for each other and the memories we shared. Some of us cried especially me because we all know that we will miss each other.😭
