RE: SOCIAL MEDIA SERIES (1): TWITTER

in Speak Peace4 years ago (edited)

Most things start with pure intentions....then come the leeches. The leeches leech, some decent people leave and some stay. Then you are left with a mess of nice and mean and selfish and decent and it all blends together and the result is....whatever it is! I’ve seen it happen to neighborhoods, communities, organizations, subcultures, social movements and companies.

We can just do our best to promote decency. I think slow development is advantageous for a healthy ecosystem. Steem was turning into a mess 2 years ago, so much arguing and scamming, then the crypto price dropped and we lost probably almost 90% of users. But this has allowed us to build a strong core of decent people who can work together.

As far as twitter drama goes, we all live in these different bubbles and most people aren’t thinking about this when they interact with others online, except through the lens of their limited stereotypes. They function as if everyone is living in their world with their thoughts and their experiences. So much drama comes from this. There is a lot I can say about this, I want to write a post on it later.

Great post!
