In October we had a family trip to spend a special weekend at the beach. It was a five hour drive from the capital, so we didn't arrive in time to spend a sunny day in front of the sea, but it didn't matter, the town was beautiful and I decided to go out and explore the area with my brother so we wouldn't be short of groceries for dinner and our Saturday at the beach. My brother already knew part of the town, and told me where we could go, but my adventurous spirit wanted more; after all it was a couple of hours before dinner.
We arrived to a very swampy area of town, literally the swamp looked as terrifying as it smelled, and what surprised me the most was that there were inns nearby. I thought: How could a tourist stay in this area...? Don't get me wrong, all was not lost, there was a V.I.P. place, surrounded by palm trees and a beautiful mountainous landscape in the background, but one of the back buildings was abandoned. My brother stayed in that inn the previous year and decided not to stay in the same place this time, he took me there and to our surprise, the place that was already in bad shape last year was worse, according to him.
When we arrived at the small building and I saw it I could only think of the @slobberchops community, I have always admired their work, but I never thought I could find an interesting place to share in one of my moments of exploration when I'm traveling. My brother didn't want to go in, as you could hear the rats, but I was struck by the beauty of the mess. I still discovered that it was not an abandoned place as such, but the promise to finish building it has been forgotten.
In my country this is actually very common. The economy has caused many projects to start and remain half done and few are those that manage to recover over time. My brother was told last year that it would be a matter of months to finish this inn, but the abandonment was greater, and at the same time this makes people do not want to stay in the inn, even he himself looked for a better one, a few kilometers away from this one. The place had a strong smell of dampness and animal feces such as rabbits and rats.
Like the rest of the village, everything is between the beauty of the natural landscapes and the abandoned architecture, in fact there are few people in the streets, it looks like an abandoned village, and as much as I wanted to go out before dawn to take pictures I decided to stay in the safety of my room, after all there were places like this and a lot of loneliness in the whole area. It was in that room in the upstairs area that I found a rabbit, but it ran away when it saw me and just left its pupu pellets all over the floor 😅 It would have been great to photograph it...
I wonder if those mattresses will be part of the future rooms of this inn, and in fact that terrifies me because no customer deserves a mattress that has spent so much time stored in a place with so much humidity. Here the smell of the swamp was powerful and I only dared to enter thanks to those beautiful windows that let in the last rays of afternoon sun. I was very struck by the fact that no one prevented us from getting here, there really is no security or rights to explore the area, it is only the spirit of adventure well tied to the mantle of the Virgin Mary that accompanied us.
I have mixed feelings with the town of Patanemo, as it is a beautiful place, but I think the ideal is to go with your own vehicle and stay in a hotel in Puerto Cabello, it is a little further, but provides greater tranquility, and is that many parts of the town looked like the photographs that I share with you today in Urban Explorer; in fact, one of the things that caught my attention was the economy of the place where we stayed, that's good for my pocket, but not for the economy of the inn and its maintenance. I only hope that all these special places in my country return to the glory they once enjoyed and attract many tourists in the future.
This photo above was the last one I took that afternoon in that place. I discovered some sheets on a clothesline and that made me think that someone lived or at least came to sleep in this place. At the same time it was the dirtiest room of all 😱 I understood that I shouldn't be there, and for a person who watches so many horror movies of abandoned towns, I knew it was my ticket out 🤣 I showed the pictures to my brother and he wanted to see it with his own eyes, so the next day, while the women were buying some groceries for our Saturday at the beach, my brother and I tried to go back, and in the same first hallway you can see in the first pictures we found a mattress that wasn't there the previous afternoon... So, yes, someone was sleeping in this area...
Thank you my friend!...
As they would say here in moments of surprise.... Ayyyy parceee hehehehe, Bro how crazy is that area, anyone would believe from the photos that indeed, it is abandoned, until we came across the photo of the sheets ... as it will be at night to be around there? 👻😧
The funniest thing of all is that you met a rabbit and then he left, I think he wanted you to follow him, but they in contexts like that, have certain spiritual connotations 🐇🐰❓
The photos were brutal and creepy, good job for a community like this Bro 🤘.... You Fuc&%$ Rockkk!!! 👍😎🔥📸❤️
You Fuc&%$ Rockkk!! 👍😎🔥📸❤️
You scared me with what you say about the rabbit, besides the fact that it was white.... No, I definitely wouldn't follow it. Thank you so much my Fercho for reading this post too, I have had some crazy adventures this year and I don't know how I remember to share them at some point and in some community. I hug you my brother...
Let's see for instance you guys come face to face with the person living there what will you do😀
My friend, what a good question, and I don't know what I would have really done hahaha, although maybe I could have died of fright hahaha. Thank you very much for your appreciation 🙏
Lolzz well i think you would have figure it out 😀 and you most welcome
