Sporting memory : My first time organizing competition and fame that follows

Still on the sport talk social, in 2010 when i didn't to much to participate in football trainings and matches, as a sport lover i couldn't just go back home and stay without being involved in sporting activities, and with the crowd and attention i have been able to gather for myself in the village, state and otherwise,i couldn't just let it die like that, because there have been a serious demand on my skill and talent as far as sport is concern. for me to be involved in sporting activities yearly i have to start football competition in my community.

I have been actively involved in football organization for more than ten years now in my own community ranging from big field football competition and a five aside football competition, i also organize sporting competition that involved the children and even females in our community most especially in the festive period like end of the year. I stated doing this at a very young age of my life.

My first time organizing competition memory is what am going to share with you on this post, in 2010 i organize my first five aside competition that involves all families in my community, as you all know every beginning of greatness always start with the grassroots. In that competition i have twelve families that was represented in that competition, although i had a little difficulties arranging the fixtures because it was my first time taking that role in football i did it successfully.

Those were the participating families in that competition, it was actually a smooth competition that the entire community were so proud of and there were all in support of the competition, this is on of the encouraging factor that leads to putting up the competition yearly.

In 2010 which was the inaugural year, out of the twelve participating families, the Nung Ukana Family and the Nung Enang Family were able to play up to the final stage of the competition, it was actually a very competitive match that leads to the penalty shoot out, after the match ended a 1:1 draw, but The Nung Ukana family became the winner of that particular years competition when they win Nung Enang Family in the penalty shoot out three goals to two. The celebration was overwhelming.

In my first experience of organizing a competition, i was face with so many challenges, such as lack of finance, lack of sponsors, lack of trophy and awards,lack of jerseys, lack of good playing pitch, how to gather player from different families to form a team and participate, the organizing committee was something else, you will not see them on time, it was some how a difficult task but i over came it all because i was committed to what i was doing. But today as a result of this yearly competition we have a good playing pitch, sponsors are now available because of the evidence they have seen, so many things are being put in place because of the consistency, and i thank God that it happened in my time.

The very good important memory that i have during the organization of that competition was that, after putting up such a well organize competition for the first time, the whole community attention was shifted to me as far sports is concern in our community even up till now. I was indeed celebrated, i was a hero that year and am still enjoying the fame till now.
