Joel Embiid's 2024-25 season is over due to lingering knee injury

While it's unsurprising, it's still pretty unfortunate to hear the announcement that Joel Embiid's season is officially over due to his lingering knee problems. Embiid appeared in the least amount of games he ever has really if you discount the two seasons he missed to start his career. The 19 games he appeared in this year are the least he's played in since the 2016-17 season when he played 31. It stinks it took to practically March for this decision to be made. Left the team in limbo for a huge majority of the season.

Embiid's been a confusing, and at times frustrating subject for Sixers fans. Embiid is great, but he's also injury prone and has failed to really deliver in the postseason ever. Still it does stink to see more of Embiid's era and prime go down the drain.

It's pretty clear the Sixers are pretty much ninety-five percent committed to the Draft and 2025-26 in general but, I wonder what the Sixers will look like during this final stretch of the season knowing full well that Embiid is done for the season. Maybe the Sixers will start winning a few games. Might hurt the Draft position but it would be interesting. In general, this Embiid situation is leaving me just at a loss for words. I just want the Sixers to be good.

On Wednesday, the Sixers played really well and almost beat the Knicks. The Sixers had a four point lead with roughly two and a half minutes left but Jalen Brunson and the Knicks dug deep and got it done unfortunately. Paul George showed a lot more effort than I'm used to seeing which was cool I guess. Even with this strange season, beating the Knicks would have been nice.

Tonight, the Sixers will be facing the Warriors, featuring Steph Curry and newcomer Jimmy Butler. The new tandem has awesome potential and have looked pretty good so far. Steph and Jimmy could be a whole new, but still great, style of play versus Steph and Klay. Steph and Jimmy are like opposites offensively and I think they could be a lethal yin and yang. Even though they might torch the Sixers, I am still pretty intrigued to see them play. Will be fun to watch Jimmy and Steph in the playoffs too.

Anyway, always something new with this team, but still it's always...
