Pudding with cinnamon [Pudín con canela]

in Hive Food8 months ago

Hello friends. A few days ago I made a pudding with cinnamon for the first time, it didn't turn out very pretty but it tasted delicious. I used some soda cans as a mold. Here in Cuba it is quite popular to do this since finding a mold is quite difficult and the ones that exist are of poor quality. The cans resist temperature perfectly and can be used on several occasions. In this way we also contribute to recycling. Below I share the ingredients and the procedure.

Hola amigos.

INGREDIENTS

  1. One liter of milk.
  2. An egg.
  3. A teaspoon of cinnamon.
  4. Half a cup of brown sugar.
  5. Two balls of bread.
  6. Six tablespoons of sugar for the syrup.

INGREDIENTES

  1. Un litro de leche.
  2. Un huevo.
  3. Una cucharadita de canela.
  4. Media taza de azúcar morena.
  5. Dos bolas de pan.
  6. Seis cucharadas de azúcar para el almíbar.

PREPARATION

  1. Beat the egg and mix it with the milk, sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Crumble the bread, add it to the mixture and let it rest for approximately one hour.
  3. After the hour, if you have a mixer you can process the mixture, if not, as is my case, with a spoon you can press the bread to break it up as much as possible.
  4. To prepare the caramel, heat 1/3 cup of water and when it starts to boil add the sugar. Let it reduce for a couple of minutes.
  5. Pour the caramel into the molds and then the mixture.
  6. Place all the molds in a saucepan and cover with water up to half the height of the cans. Check every 15 minutes if you need to add more water. Cook over medium heat for an hour or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Important: it must be cooked without covering to prevent water from rising and entering the molds.
  7. When they are done, place the cans in the refrigerator for approximately 20 minutes so that the dough does not fall apart when dismantling.

PREPARACIÓN
