This is a photo of a German Soldier who was kept in custody after The Battle of Stalingrad in 1943, you can see on his face that he has lost all hope. The Battle of Stalingrad was one of the most bloody battles in history, it started in the summer of 1942 when German Soldiers tried to Capture the City of Stalingrad. 200.000 German Soldiers were trapped in the Area of Stalingrad during that period. Instead of trying to Escape, Hitler gave his Soldiers the Order to Stay Strong and Stand their Ground. Almost 110.000 German Soldiers slowly starved to death. The remaining Soldiers finally Surrendered in February 1943.

Number 4 - The Kamikaze Pilot

At the Age of 15 he joined the Japanese Army's Youth Pilot Training Program, after being rejected into the Navy Flight Training School. The other People on this Photo are his Friends, this Photo was taken a Day before their Suicide Mission on Okinawa Japan. Yukio Araki became the Youngest Suicide Pilot, and they say he Killed 66 Soldiers on the Destroyer USS Braine. On this Photo they seem to be Happy and Have no Fear of Death.

This Photo was taken in 1942 at a British Airfield, the Pilot on this Photo was in Duty and took this Haircut before he was ready to intercept German Aircraft. It's fascinating to see how calm he looks during such Dangerous Conditions. Many Pilots Died during the Battle, they knew it was a Dangerous Task. The man on this Photo Survived and he was Twice Awarded "Britain’s Distinguished Flying Cross" and was recommended for the "Victoria Cross". His Name was Francis Mellersh and after the War he continued serving in the RAF for 30 Years. He Died at the Age of 72.

The Statue stood in the Square just in front of Stalingrad’s Main Train Station, the Officially Name is the Children’s Khorovod what literally means “Children’s Round Dance”. They installed it at 1939 and was based-on a Fairy-Tale Poem by Korney Chukovsky. The Statue Shows how Life should be with the Ambiance of Fear and Terror in the Background.

They restored the Statue after the War and they Removed in the 1950s. A Replica has been installed at the Original site at 23 August 2013, they did this for the 71st Anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad. They also installed 2 Replicas at Different Locations in Volgograd, in December 2013 there was a Terrorist Attack near one of the Replicas, Like the Destruction was meant to be again.

The Men were Killed During Bloody Sunday because the German thought they were Saboteurs.
