The ancient language of ivrit ( עברית ) Genesis 1 - Part 2

in #hebrew7 years ago (edited)

The full study is now on line covering

the Alef - Beyt in detail @hebrew on Steemit.com. The vowels are marked in this bible and are designed to help avoid confusion on what a word is and how it is pronounced, as if there is not already enough of that in the interpretations globally. In modern spoken Hebrew, only children need the niqqud until they have the pronunciation memorized.

This is a very late start to my Shabbat reading as I had met with Nic Lesmeister, President of MJBI this morning and took some time in returning home.

After last week, today's reading will seem like a walk in the park as compared to Asaf's fluent highway speeds. But, I want you to be able to associate the sounds with letters.

This week I am reading from the beginning again, pointing to letters and vowels as I go.

  • Vowels are usually found under the letter
  • Sometimes the "O" sound is above the letter

We are reading the first few words as a review in the grey parenthesis ( )
The new reading continues between the green parenthesis ( ) as Elohim speaks light into being and calls it good.

Please comment if you need me to read slower or use more explanation of sounds. Or maybe I could read more quickly with better intonation. I am always open to ideas.

Wonderful work mind-blowing 👏👏

Great post. We can learn many thing about Hebrew language form this post. Thank you so much for sharing.

The word "et" has no translation into English, but it translates well to the word "a" in Spanish, also having no translation to English.

I agree that symbolism is everywhere in Hebrew and I also stated that the 'new testament' was written in some form of Hebrew or Aramaic. The Greek texts are obviously translations from a Semite language at the very least, containing the idioms and slang thereof.

all of your post give me thrill. you are doing the great job by teaching us the noble language.may god bless you

One of Judaism's great figures is the man called Moshe Rabbenu ('Moses our teacher') in Hebrew. The first five books of the Bible are traditionally ascribed to him. Moses is the channel between God and the Hebrews, through whom the Hebrews received a basic charter for living as God's people.

YeshuaYoshia.pngThis is so interesting. A bit hard to follow but tnx to your previous posts i start to understand it a bit.@hebrew

I am listening it now. I appreciate you, you are trying your best to teach us this ancient language and I personally think, you have a very busy life style with your profession. But you don't forget to make atleast one teaching material per week to share your knowledge!
Thank you!
(If I get questions, I will definitely reply under this comment)@hebrew,

God bless you~

Listening now ... great to have these.

Yes That it great @borgheseglass

Shalom, I listened and I love to read more, next time perhaps you read more slowly so I can catch up, thank you I'm following.

It is a good pace.

But are you learning to read? I still find myself stopping and absorbing the words after reading some of the new ones. I am in the middle of the book of "And he called' which is the real title of Leviticus. I read way more quickly every evening, but not as fast as Asaf (I am reading the Hebrew and the English too).

Now that you know the letters, you can read and learn as a child does from his mother.

Yes I am learning to read. It is the perfect pace for me.

Great to have the recordings!

Yes ! that is awesome recordings @shadflyfilms
