First of all, what is healing? It is a process of becoming healthier. Our body is always in the process of self-healing to varying degrees. Sometimes eliminating some excess mucus or at other times healing deep injuries and scars on our bodies.

If someone eats food that is destructive for their health - they're causing more obstructions, while not giving the body adequately nutrition and energy.

Eat candy for a whole day and see how you feel. You'll sure get a sugar high now and then, but your overall health will inevitably decline. Imagine eating candy for a whole week; your body will not receive what it needs at all and spend time and energy to digest foods that don't give any nutrients and vitamins, only empty calories.

It's obvious, right? The food we eat does have a great impact on our state of health, it's not the only aspect of health, but a very big one.

How do we approach healing?

The outdated view of looking at healing is held together with a limited view of sickness. (e.g., You experience lots of mucus and sinus problems, instead of evaluating your eating habits and other aspects of your life - the doctor simply give you some tablets that are said to help the "sickness.")

However, the symtpom is not the sickness. It's only the sign of healing taking place, and an alarm to make us aware of why this is happening.

In this example, we could say that the body is getting rid of unhealthy elements ingested from the food we eat or taken in by the environment we live in. The body is not sick, it's just that we ingest things that aren't in harmony with our bodies needs. The intelligent response from our body is to remove what's not welcomed, it catches and removes unhealthy debris with mucus, shortly expelled by the body.

As earlier stated; healing is always happening automatically within your body, and it's up to us to how much healing we're in need of or not, it's mostly a result of our choices. The real sickness is to only treat the symptoms (which in some cases are very appropriate to do) Nevertheless, If we want to heal we need to get down our knees and do something about our lifestyle after locating that cause of our symptoms.

In the medical fields, this is a conventional treatment approach to people in need of healing. The method of taking tablets, creams and other outside resources might be helpful and prevent some negative symptoms. But the symptoms are signs of an underlying problem that needs to be dealt with, earlier the better.

A change of perspective

Just imagine yourself that all your diseases were self-made, and instead of adding specific foods, vitamins, minerals, prescription drugs and all that. You now were asked to get rid of whatever foods you already do ingest, that you suspect to be destructive to your health.

We live in a capitalistic society that "sometimes" is too focused on getting more, stronger, bigger and all that. We're sometimes to focused on what we do want, that we forgot that we already have things we're better off without, that we need to let go of.

Not everything is entirely in our control; food choices is, however, something we do have a substantial decisive power of. It's said that we are what we eat: The food we choose to eat has a profound effect on our well-being in every way, it influences our energy levels, focus, feelings, everything. Our cells completely change and get re-built from the food we eat every second week. We literally are what we eat, your whole being is food made up from your past meals, imagine that!

The question then becomes: Do you want to be in a body made up from fresh fruits and vegetables, or would you like to live in a body derived from cancer-causing dead animals?

Food doesn't heal you, the body does

Let me suggest another an outlook, just a view that might help. What if it's mostly an inside job? What if Nothing heals you, No-Thing, if anything does it's undoubtedly your own body and nothing from the outside. (no matter how helpful some things are, essentially its the body that heals)

Focus on what you can reduce, what you can throw away from your daily life that's not serving your health. By doing this we're healing, we're no longer putting unhealthy foods in the way of healing, we're allowing our bodies to improve by giving it better foods instead. Healthier food support our body, but still the food is not giving us healing, it just makes it easier for it to happen.

If you eat a big amount of greasy meat and chips, but then you add an apple, it won't usually make any significant difference. However, remove the meat and replace it with fruit and vegetables you'll be sure to notice some changes. I think we can all take a step back, and look at our current lifestyle choices (doesn't need to be about food) and contemplate what aren't healthy for me, what can I change and do less of or not at all. Instead of focusing on what we need more of. (Throw out the trash first, before it starts to stink.)

I think if we have that approach it can be much more powerful and effective than always reaching out for that something that is going to "cure" us. There is no cure; you were never sick. Most of your problems are because of unhealthy choices, born into an unhealthy world. It's your time to heal, by removing what stands in the way of healing - healing is your birthright. (If you let it happen)

(biggest yellow mark I've ever come across, it tasted amazingly sweet.)

Ingredients:

Watermelon (you didn't expect that one did you?)

Watermelon tips:

1. Look for a big yellow mark (picture) on the surface; this usually correlates to it how ripe it is. The deeper the color the better.

2. Knock the watermelon. Listen for a medium-pitched tone. (You need to experiment with this) If the sound is very deep it might be too ripe. If it's higher pitched it's usually crisper in texture, but might be less sweet. Aim for a watermelon with a pitch that resembles freshness and crispy-texture, at the same time being properly ripened and full of sweet juice, experiment how it should sound.

3. Bigger the better? (no I'm not talking about the optimal tire size of your car) When it comes to fruit,

it is sometimes a sign of quality; and can reflect the fruits deliciousness levels.

Healing properties:

Firstly it's a fruit and is the healthiest food frugivores (humans) can eat.

Very high water intake that hydrates you with sweet, naturally fruit-filtered water.

The little amount of fruit flesh gives your digestion a chance to relax. Less effort of digestion means more energy available for healing.

It's sweet and satisfies your sweet-tooth and give your body fast energy as well as being free of any unhealthy elements. (if organic)

In the "mucusless diet" A book written by Arnold Ehret, a diet consisting of only fruits are referred to a mucusless diet. I can attest to this as I healed my sinuses and lack of smell when switching to a fruit-based diet. (mucus only exist to capture and get rid of any unwanted intriguers, if we eat too many mucus-forming foods this becomes a problem.

When we give ourselves the luxury of eating food that is in agreement with our bodies and digestive juices. We also experience the benefits from that how our mood can become more stable and light, we can experience more clarity of mind and in the long-term less and less cravings the more we eat of the non-addictive food types like pure fruits and vegetables.

If you want to know you're eating something healthy, make it easy for yourself and choose fruit!

Be well!
I didn’t get to read all of this, but great info and right on point: the body is what heals !
You are absolutely right. People often think that they can continue their bad eating habits so long as they add some fruits and veggies into the mix but that isn't it. The human body is amazing and has regenerative abilities that are either hindered or supported by the food we eat. (So it is an inside job :D) Less is more - hence your advice to get rid of what we identify to be self destructive rather than adding what we think is healthy hits the nail directly on the head. Man, as much as it likes to believe has transcended nature is a child of nature and will forever be a part of nature, even if in the process we end up altering nature. Thus its reasonable to believe that nature and mankind are meant to have a symbiotic relationship. Im not a vegetarian or a vegan but after this read I realize no matter how healthy I eat if I don't cut back on all my guilty pleasure foods Im only preventing my body's natural self healing abilities. Time to take steps. Cheers!
Cheers mate, I also think we'll forever be a part of nature, and when we align with that we can live in greater harmony with nature and ourselves.
Thank you for your contribution @fruitarian im glad I forced you. Its really good to know how the body is in a state of healing all the time and how what u eat can help or hinder that. I've always had a love for these sweet watery gems. I didn't know about the yellow patch tho.. Thanks for teaching me something new again!
