This past week we had the pleasure of visiting The Ridge at Manitou to complete aerial filming of the property, including all 18 holes. As with all aerial film projects, we're at the mercy of Mother Nature, and we were very grateful to have been blessed with clear sky's and calm winds for the bulk of our stay.
Located in the heart of the Muskoka region, the natural beauty of this golf course is arguably it's greatest selling feature. With a great layout (designed by Thomas McBroom) winding it's way through the dense forest, the rolling terrain also features epic granite outcroppings, a signature attribute of the area.
Filming at sunrise and sunset makes for long days, but it's definitely worth it to start the day at such a beautiful property with no one on the course and a blanket of fresh dew still on covering the grass. One morning we were also greeted by the course mascot, who was kind enough to pose right beside the yardage rock on the 17th hole.
This course is truly one of a kind and a must visit for anyone considering playing golf in the Muskoka region. Possibly the coolest, distinguishing feature of this property is the waterfront clubhouse, offering breathtaking views of lake Manitouwabing. While I sat on the patio and enjoyed a delicious fire roasted pizza, I watched as one group of golfers arrived at the course by boat, followed by another group who arrived by plane. I've visited a lot of golf courses, and I can't think of too many where players can arrive by car, boat or plane; very cool!
Last but not least, a HUGE thank-you to all the staff at The Ridge at Manitou, who were absolutely amazing. From the cart-barn and maintenance staff, to the restaurant and proshop as well as the management team; everyone was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. A special shout-out to Bryce, who came out on the course with me to help capture some action shots!
I'm excited to now be entering the 'post-production' stage of the project, where our editing team will be reviewing all the footage and putting together a stunning collection of videos to showcase this one of a kind golf property. Stay tuned!
Pretty sweet man.
I was up there nearly 30 yrs ago at the Re/Max broker-owner retreat when my brokers took me as the Rookie of the Year.

Interestingly enough, this course isn't far from Parry Sound, the hometown of none other than Bobby Orr!
Bobby's parents used to drive him back and forth here to Oshawa several times a week for games and practices if you can believe that drive his first year or so.
That's nonsense but he was 14 then afterall lol
That's crazy!
Search out my name + steemit + Rob Pearson from last summer on here. The Jays game is on lol
