That is quite the variety of tomatoes you sell. If I may ask what is your best selling variety? Do people prefer the large meaty ones like the mortgage lifter or the smaller varieties like brandywine .

Thanks @sufficientliving, I find the large beefsteak varieties sell best here. My brandywine's are a pound and up, so they sell very well. The Box Car Willie has been a huge success as well - people bid war over them..lol it's serious. The Mortgage Lifters did not impress me, but will try an alternative seed source next year. In this area the large and small varieties sell well, but the medium sized tomatoes 8-12oz don't seem interesting enough. The gnarliest, ugliest ones sell - some people that buy from us swear the odd ones have the best taste!

I also recommend selling Cherry Tomatoes - they are typically sold by the pint, not lb. and they tend to run $3-5 /pint (at least where I live). They are typically prolific producers and a good way to earn some extra money. We had one cherry tomato plant last year that made more than we could ever eat (family of 4). Easy money making opportunity and worst case you'll make tons of happy neighbors 😎🔥🚀
