RE: ADSactly Game Review #1

in #gaming7 years ago

I dunno. I love Destiny and its approach to lore. If you really dive into it, there are some amazing stories that tie together to give the game this grand sense of history. I agree the way it was implemented wasn't the best, but the stories that are there are fantastic.

I'd highly recommend looking up the story of The Ishtar Collective. A group of scientists who first encountered the Vex, and found themselves stuck inside a perfect simulation. Really interesting read.

I've done some delving into the Destiny lore, after seeing a few articles about how much of it was "hidden". I agree, the lore itself was beautiful, but having to collect Grimoire Cards to even get a small view of it was lame. The fact that you basically had to hunt for the lore was lost on me, and basically any casual gamers. Then, came D2, which was a shell of D1, minus Grimoire Cards and anything resembling legends and lore. Don't get me wrong, the game itself was beautiful, but for people looking forward to Destiny 2 as much as the diehard fans of D1, it was a disappointment. The repetition and lack of abundance of quests and new stuff to do, lost my interest quickly. As soon as I got my 3 classes up to 300 power, it became repetitive, and I lost interest. Couple that with Assassins Creed Origins being released, and I've completely abandoned D2. You saw major improvements and advancements from Titanfall 1, to 2. I was expecting D2 to be the same way. They took something amazing, and improved it in almost every aspect with TF2.
