Fifa 18 is almost here (release date: the 29th of Septembre 2017) and we have already discovered some of the major changes between Fifa 17 and this new edition.
The New Face of Fifa 18: Cristiano Ronaldo
Here are official pictures from the new EA Sports game:
On the left, you can see the official cover. On the right, an image taken from the official trailer of Fifa 18. No doubt that playing with Cristiano Ronaldo will be even more pleasant than it was in the previous game.
But what if Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid? The cover might have to be changed, and the release date would consequently be put back... Let's hope Cristiano stays where he is...
The Platforms You'll Be Able To Play On
Fifa 18 will be available on the following platforms: Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PC and Nintendo Switch (NEW).
Unfortunately, not all features are available on all platforms... Xbox One, PS4 and PC platform versions only can enjoy frostbite game engine technology and "The Journey" mode.
The Icons
Originally called "legends" and only available on Xbox One, the former football stars will now be called the "Icons". Some of them have already been revealed by EA Sports: Ronaldo Nazario, Diego Maradona, Pelé, Thierry Henry and Lev Yachine will be part of them.
The New Celebrations
As can be seen in the trailer, some new celebrations will be available for some players. Let's mention, for instance: Dybalamask, Ronaldo thinking pose, Jamie Vardy mannequin challenge, Blaise Matuidi charo...
The Gameplay
According to players who have already had the chance to play the game, the gameplay is quite slow, which is good. Unfortunately, we know that they generally fasten this gameplay when releasing the "real version".
Players' movements are more realistic, at least for some of them (including Cristiano Ronaldo), thanks to the capture motion technology. Some dribbling skills are typical of one player. Others, which were considered as too efficient in the previous Fifa, are now less efficient.
Regarding the shots, it seems that we'll see more goals, but aren't they too accurate? In fact, goalkeepers are not good enough...
The Graphics
From what we've been able to observe in the trailers and the first reviews of the game, Fifa graphics have been improved. Players are more realistic, and so are their animations and movements. The crowd is also more detailed, and you'll be able to see individual reactions. In other words, the crowd in favor of your team will not always encourage your team unanimously.
The Journey 2: Alex Hunter returns
If you loved playing with Alex Hunter, you'll be pleased to hear that you'll be able to go on with his story. What will be improved is that Alex Hunter will play football in new environments (not only Premier League). What is more, his look can be changed, such as hair color, clothes...
More information is going to be revealed and/or confirmed at the Gamescom, which takes place from the 22nd to the 26th of August.
