You missed the GeoForce Now service from Nvidia. It's another cloud gaming system with some promise.
I'm in agreement with you on many of these points. I think, given the current economic system, the lack of control over the games is indeed a problem. And the internet reliability will be quite an issue. I enjoy being able to play games offline.
However, for people like me who cannot afford high end gaming rigs, cloud gaming offers a chance to get amazing graphics for games that I otherwise would be unable to play with my current systems.
Also, imagine in a future world, where ownership and money are no longer holding us back. You can hop onto the cloud gaming client, and immediately start playing any game you want at any time. All fully updated, running at optimal specs, with your save data available anywhere and your custom setup control systems. The possibilities of such a system are awesome to dream about.
