The power of freedom

You might have wondered: "Am I really free?" sometime?

I did. A lot of times to be honest.

I've read philosophical books from time to time and; indirectly got the answer. You see, whoever you may be reading this story, knowing that you're free it's seldom difficult and utilize that freedom consciously is even harder than realizing that you already are free, even though you might feel enclosed and without any other hope than doing what you're currently doing.

I, still as a nobody to you tell you that you're free, independently of whatever others may say, independently of how you may feel in your current situation, as simple as that, you're free. Why? How? Well, you're free from the beginning of your life, you never will need a seal, a document, a permission, nothing to be free.

Being free is having a choice, is having a criteria with everything. The more choices you have at hand, the more free you are. What? You say you're not free for not having any choices because things out of your reach are forbidding your options? The only situations that are out of our reach are the natural phenomenons and how another human acts, however, being free also is how we react and act to those kind of situations that we cannot control. The curse on we humans as a species is to be free, it's also a blessing, every human on earth has no other option to be free, even if they give up their freedom they're making a choice by their own giving up their freedom, sorry if I'm being redundant here. That scares most people when you talk about freedom, the freedom to rule and take responsibility of their own lives, decisions and choices. That's why we see so much people complaining about their current situation that is wrongly thought of as "out of their hands", governments, companies, family, other human beings. Those people love to not take responsibility for themselves, they like to do things and to blame others when it comes out wrong, if comes right then they complain to not have earned the results they were looking for, that's why we are still seeing dictators and tyrants rule some countries. The people, likes others to take decisions for them, saves them the effort to think and have criteria by their own, avoids them to take responsibility for their actions...but wonder what, they CHOSE to give up their freedom, even if they are trampled and ordered to kiss the boot with a gun in their faces, they made a decision to follow the choices another one made. Even if you abandon your freedom, it doesn't abandon you at all, because it's like the blood in your veins, you born with it and you cannot deny it.

What does it mean to be free too? To make choices and decisions that suits you. Be careful, don't get confused, freedom it's having a choice, not to do the first thing that comes to your mind. You can decide to or not to wake-up tomorrow, but that comes with consequences that might or not suit your aspirations. We must learn when we are kids what suits us, to breakfast with pancakes or with nails, to put clothes on or be naked, to respect the traffic lights or risk to lose your life. To give more body to the concept: freedom is having a choice by your own; always thinking first on what suits you most. And even here comes at hand the relations with other human beings, human beings cannot live with contact between each other (as much as some of you may deny it, we can't) so healthy relationships suits us, help us stay sane and humanize us, and that way, humanize others that may need it more than anything else. That's why some rich people do die sad or suicide nowadays, they use the people as simple tools to reach their goals in a non-healthy way, instead of treating them as a human being to get something uncountable times more important than simple materialistic desires, treat and be treated as a human. This type of relationships with other humans are part of being free looking for a Good Life, because in our deepest being; the goal is to live life as good as it may be possible.

So, when someone you know tells you that you're not free that we all have a place in the universe and we are destined to do what we are doing right now and nothing else, hit 'em with a stick! If they ask you to stop, tell them you're on automatic as they said. And then they'll understand that they are free to ask you to stop or to keep their pride in exchange for some bruises (beware, this is just an example, but "do as you like", however always keep in mind what suits you most. And please, don't do it if the one you know knows Karate or Muay Thai...).

Remember, your freedom is powerful. You just need to know that you don't have any other choice than being free.
