Next in Line 5: Mohamed Salah.

They bought the lad from Roma
And he scores every game
He is Egyptian and he’s brilliant
And Mohamed’s his name
Mo Sa-la-la-la-lah

Probably the biggest surprise of the season has been the astronomical stats that Mohamed Salah has managed to produce. The Liverpool front-man has been in truly inspiring form and has been scoring goals for fun this season. No one was expecting the Egyptian to be a mediocre player but what Salah has achieved this season is beyond what most football fans would have expected.

Before moving to Liverpool Salah was hardly average being announced Roma’s player of the season in 2015/2016. Salah has also been named BBC and CAF African Footballer of the year for 2017. With more than 30 contributions (goals + assists) in his past two seasons of European football Salah’s brilliant form is clearly not a stroke of luck. The Egyptian is clearly the real deal and in an interview after being named African footballer of the Year Salah expressed his intention to win the Balon D’Or/World Footballer of the year. On current form Salah’s intentions cannot be dismissed without considering the very real possibility of it occurring.

The Egyptian has bags of pace, an ability to find himself in the right place at the right time and the ability to hit the back of the net and set up teammates. Salah will be a strong candidate for the Premier League player of the season. In my mind there is no doubt that the 25-year-old can challenge to become only the 2nd ever African (1st George Weah) to win the Balon D’or/ World Footballer of the year in the future.

On the International front I don’t think many people give Egypt a chance with Salah’s ability they might surprise one or two of the bigger nations. However, I do not think Egypt will be a challenger even with the talents of Salah. At Liverpool however, Salah is playing in a team and for a manager that’s style of play suits him perfectly and the exciting attacking football can only benefit the Egyptian. Liverpool fans will be hoping to keep hold of their superstar with rumors about a move to Real Madrid already making the rounds.

With a wand of a left foot Salah has already broken Robbie Fowler’s Premier League record with most left-footed goals in a season and Salah now has 20. Salah’s stats are more than impressive and the Egyptian will only be hoping for more of the same in the seasons to come (Hopefully sprinkled with some silverware).

What do you think about Salah? Can Salah be the second African ever to win the Balon D’Or/World Footballer of the Year? Can Salah fire Liverpool to some much-desired silverware? Will Liverpool keep hold of their Egyptian magician?

Can't believe the season he's having for us, absolute pleasure to watch him play.

He is truly something special. I cannot argue with that.

Match-going Liverpool supporter here, so I was over the moon to see an image of Salah on Steemit.

What a cracking player, and at a real bargain price too. Let's hope he can continue his form in the Champions League.

Mo Salah! Mo Salah! Mo Salah
Running down the wing
Salah la la la la la
The Egyptian King!

Well the kid is a brilliant footballer and without a doubt the bargain of the summer. Personally I am a United supporter but the kid's quality is undeniable. Also he has three really catchy songs...

Excited to see what he will bring to the Prem in the years to come.

Unbelievable form!
Never thought that he was able of doing this.
Great player The Reds have with him.
But winning the Ballon d'Or is a bridge too far for me.

Well if the kid continues his current form it might be possible. However I think the only way that Salah could win the award is if Liverpool win the Prem and Champs.

Honestly though he is not my first pick but I think his form in the past two season has indicated that we shouldn't completely discount the Egyptian. Especially if the Madrid rumors turn out to be true.
