Last weekend, I wne to Taiping to taste the famous Port Weld Prawn Mee or we call it Mee Udang in Malay. The distance from Kuala Lumpur to Taiping is approximately 266 kilometers. Meaning I will ride my motorcycle for more that 400KM back and forth.
I spent about 12USD on fuel for my journey back and forth. I maintain my cruising speed around 140km to 150km per hour. After almost 3 hours of riding, I arrive at Port Weld, Taiping.
Kuala Sepetang is a coastal town located in Larut, Matang and Selama District, Perak, Malaysia. Also known by English-speaking locals as Port Weld after a former Governor, Frederick Weld: Wikipedia Source Link
Without any delay, I straight away went inside the famous Prawn Mee restaurant to order a plate of the mee. The restaurant was full with customers. Thankfully I am able to get a seating.
Upon ordering, I got to know that the Prawn Mee comes in three sizes. Small = comes with 8 small size prawn. Price for small Prawn Mee is 2USD. Then they have Medium = comes with seven medium size prawn. Price for medium Prawn Mee is 4USD. Lastly is the Large = comes with 5 pieces of lobster. Price of large Prawn Mee is 7USD.
The popular and most ordered would be medium size Prawn Mee. I myself prefer to have the medium one. The amount and size of the prawn is worth the money spent.
Next week Ramadhan comes and fasting will start. I hope I can still ride my motorcycle once in a while during Ramadhan 😁😁
