#103 - Love Your Garlic
Garlic, the Super-Herb
One of the most common herbs we find in our kitchen, and we have somewhat overlooked its benefits. It's about time we take advantage of it and start incorporating it into our meals be it breakfast, lunch or dinner and not for cooking reasons alone but its health effects also
Boosting your immune system, that's garlic's super power.
Garlic and the Allium family contain chemicals that help your body's immunity, your body's ability to defend itself against infections and diseases like the common cold , flu.
Apart from improving your immune system, the active ingredients in garlic have lots of health benefits such as:
- reducing blood pressure
- serving as a preventative agent and treatment of some cardiovascular and metabolic diseases including atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, thrombosis, hypertension and diabetes. (Dr Axe)
- removing heavy metals from the body
- helping in the treatment of yeast infections
- helping in the prevention of Neuro-degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and dementia which have strong link to inflammations to the brain
There is no wonder garlic is called a super-herb, it helps in your overall health and good taste in your foods.
If you do not love garlic, I think you should and if you are worried about the smell it will leave in your mouth, there is always the pharmacy for you to get garlic supplements.
