Steemit fair or neutral?

After join a week ago and observe steemit for a week. I have notice some patterns. Pretty girls , steemit hypers and people who brag how much they make on steem gets on top. If i went to a news site and top stories was how great site the site is, i probably would not read much there. Pretty girls atleast i understand why they get put on top, because that sells. Seems like a few people here that decides whats good or not. Because some people have much more voting power. I tought this site was made for the readers and not for someone decide for what i should read about. What about make payment to how many read the blog. And most read post stays on top. And site find out what subjects i like or what author i like read from.
