The fight went on between the herbalist and Alabi, Ajoke's husband. Ajoke refused to give the child to the herbalist. So she gave different excuses to the husband so that he won't think she is having any affairs with the herbalist. She went to meet the herbalist privately and begged him to leave the child for her and the husband. The herbalist refused and threatened to expose her to everyone, she was very frightened and threatened him back that she will use all her powers to make sure he doesn't get the child.

On the naming ceremony day, Ajoke and Alabi got very prepared so there won't be any delay. While the naming was going on, the name of the baby was mentioned as Adufe. Everyone was Happy including the parents while the priest then called on the father of the baby to come and have the baby. Before Alabi could stepped forward, a voice heared from afar yelling 'I am the father of the baby, don't give him to someone else' and when everyone focused to that direction, it was the herbalist they all saw. The herbalist came and explained everything that happened to the people, they were all surprised and disappointed in her. She also gave her explanations of the story and everyone were surprised about the situation on ground.

Alabi, while standing on a spot could not say anything because he was very shocked and downcasted. He was called several times but he could not respond. After that he laid donw and they poured water on him before he later responded. He was just looking at everyone without saying a word. The herbalist then asked for the child but the mother refused to give the child to him. The herbalist said he does not want his child to be called Adufe but should be called Ifagbemi. Ajoke refused and told the herbalist that if he does not leave, she was going to curse him. The herbalist with anger placed a curse on the baby that he would be ugly throughout his life and won't see a woman willing to marry him.

Ajoke was also angry and placed a curse on the herbalist telling him that he was going to die a sorrowful death. The herbalist later left with anger while ajoke still carrying her baby was crying because of her husband's health, Alabi. The priest and everyone attending the ceremony left the couple. Alabi could not utter a word, Ajoke put the child in his hands and begged him to forgive her. She later heard him cough, she quickly ran inside and bring him a cup of water. He drank the water and he said he was tired. She took him inside the house where he had a deep sleep but before he fell asleep, he told Ajoke that he has forgiven her after much tears and he also said that he has accepted the child. He also said that he wanted to see his brother at the city. Ajoke sent a message to his brother. He later came to the village and met his brother in a bad condition.

Alabi told his brother to take Adufe to the city to study when he completes one because the village was not safe for him to live in. The brother agreed to take him to the city and Ajoke was nervous. She wanted to know what Alabi was saying to his brother because they where talking privately. Ajoke does not want to leave Afufe for anyone because she is too frightened about the threat of the herbalist.
