Recently I devoted all my leisure time to studying EOS technology. It is very debatable now, there are a lot of contradictions and discussions about the software, ICO, the price and everything. I won't go into the technology and ICO because there are plenty of information on steemit. I just wanted to say why I personally buy EOS tokens.
EOS is the first blockchain project (as far as I remember) that pays attention to the marketing and ads. It could mean that they wanted to create a hype. I don't see nothing wrong if a promising technology with great innovations gets this hype. Another aspect is that they want more and more people to be acquainted with them. The problem with blockchain start-ups is not invading the global audience. I'm glad that block.one understands the future prospects of blockchain in general, that's why they are trying to reach people who don't even know about bitcoin. Just look at it, there is even a google ad.
2. Their ICO is 1 year long. This is very good news for me because I can participate multiple times and not worry about the time. Yes, buying on exchanges can be cheaper, but I don't do arbitrage and seldom go into speculating.
3. EOS Token on its native blockchain will represent computational power. If I own 1% of tokens, I own 1% of network power. Just imagine if a lot of developers need their dapps working, they need to acquire EOS tokens. More apps, the higher price.
4. There is no any competitive alternative. I mean, if EOS works in a year, it will probably substitute Ethereum if they don't solve their problems with scalability. EOS has a working system for scaling, it is free of charge for users(not for developers, though) and it possesses some innovative features. It is not even a blockchain, it is an operating system for blockchains!
5. Some facts. Some people say that tokens will be priced at 0.1-0.2$ because of their amount. No. Amount of Ripple tokens is 100x higher and 1 XRP = 0.24$ currently. The market capitalization is the 10th already on coinmarketcap. And there is no even a working prototype now. Just try to guess the price of a token on a native blockchain!
Thank you if you read this. This is just my own vision, I'm not a professional or a developer, I'm just a consumer. But consumers are the base of every business, so...)

Nicely said! I'm owner of a few EOS as well. I do think and like to speculate that EOS could be really big. I will be (like you) expanding my current amount later this year. But good to know other people agree with how I think of EOS in general :)
Good Post!
Thanks for sharing.@zakharsmirnoff
Would you recommend buying some EOS, or just Steem during this crypto bloodbath?
Of course, why not both! Only have $500 this month so maybe $250 EOS & $250 Steem.
