RE: EOS simply explained — too late to buy?

Such an insightful comparison, with a lot of valuable nuggets thrown in along the way.

The first point that hit home with me the most was the idea of one source of truth, the primary Blockchain layer that you can trust 100%. In general I am a fan of second layer solutions, I don't think every thing needs to be stored in a blockchain but you do need to have a place you can go that you can trust or else you end up doubting results, needing audits, unnecessary checks and often need to re do work when you find something could have been compromised. In my opinion one of the key selling points of blockchain is decentralised consensus so we need a way of achieving this.

The second point that you articulated very clearly was how money attracts a certain type of people which will be a big challenge for EOS. The "mercenaries" as you called them are in it for short term gain and surely the promise of blockchain tech is not about the money but a vision for the future.
