Side effects of a transparent society: In a transparent society psychopaths will have no where to hide

in #eos7 years ago (edited)

The side effect many people are discussing with regard to a transparent society is that greater transparency over time will eventually expose all psychopaths. In one of my previous posts, I posted about how typically in centralized hierarchical pyramid style organizations the psychopaths tend to thrive. It is also true that extreme levels of privacy also benefits psychopaths. The question is what will society do once all psychopaths are easily identified? Will we begin to see widespread discrimination? This post will discuss a potential impact of a transparent and open society on the psychopaths among us.

Will psychopaths be exposed in privacy free flat decentralized networks?

Different industries are suspected to have more psychopaths in charge than others and in the corporate world an estimation of around 4% of CEOs are high functioning psychopaths. Lawyers also maintain a high number of psychopaths compared to other careers according to estimates.

Are companies deliberately recruiting psychopaths for certain positions?

Leading commentators on psychopathy have said that companies inadvertently attract employees who are psychopaths because of the wording of their job advertisements and their desire to engage people who are prepared to do whatever it takes to be successful in business.[5][6] However, in one case at least, an advert explicitly asked for a sales executive with psychopathic tendencies.[18] The advert title read "Psychopathic New Business Media Sales Executive Superstar! £50k - £110k".[19]

While this quote does not count as legit evidence it does show that it is at least possible that certain companies may be deliberately recruiting the most unscrupulous individuals they can find. We also know that in certain specific professions involving intelligence that questionable morality or immorality is an asset. It is very plausible at least in my opinion that psychopaths in specific positions are being sought after or highly valued but it's also difficult for anyone to know without having clear data. It is difficult to determine even a percentage of the population which are psychopaths because outside of the prison population most people are not well observed or tested in ways which can determine psychopathy with a level of clinical certainty.

As the world becomes more transparent, how is society going to react or cope with a potential reality where a larger than expected percentage of the population are exposed as psychopaths? What if it's as high as 20% of the population? How will society manage this situation even if there is complete transparency? Will society be wise about how to handle the situation or will we see the sort of witch hunts we typically see in these situations?

I’m not even sure if it can be seen as a good thing or not . It’s sort of scary once we find a higher number of them and they aren’t able to hide . I’m not even sure how society will react upon numbers

Yes, and there will also be nowhere to hide from them.
I am not against transparency, I just stated another truth.

Witch hunt followed by social re-programming. How horrific will it be to be profiled as a potential psychopath because of your purchases or behaviour and then sent to a psycho ward for treatment before you've even done anything wrong?

Of course all in the name of public safety! It's scary shit.

From the perspective of a healthy society, psychopaths can be seen as an intraspecies predator which, depending on their abilities, preys upon individuals or entire societies often through the impersonal and dominating mechanisms of business.

When we come into contact with people with psychopathic qualities we are often overcome by a sense of confusion, deep mistrust and also worry about being led astray by fantasies infecting our minds. .

Transparency is one of the words frequently encountered today. This word, often used in many areas such as politics, economics, information, is often emphasized in a positive sense. Is this really the case, or what is called transparency, on the contrary, adds a new dimension to the control society? Does an environment where information is easily accessible actually strengthen the control community? Is transparency trust or vice versa?

it's impossible to be transparent in this world everybody has a different world in themselves this is special because ☺

I do not agree with you. You do not understand how many psychopaths, who can do what. who comes to mind that a religious man could be a child abuser. or that the owner of a large company is a rapist. television and newspapers are talking about it as a kind gentleman. It is clear that this did not stem from lack of education. this situation does not take the necessary moral decency. a solution for this is sought. Thanks for sharing.@dana-edwards

Transparency is honesty in our lives and honesty means value rather than slogan, which is an existing value and must be dedicated to our lives at home, work, society and home.

Transparency is also an important investment and economic development principle, which means the necessity of advertising and information about the activities and programs carried out by the organization, as well as for countries, we often hear from officials that the government's actions are transparent.

Hey dana-edwards bro, thanks for sharing your post.
This is a very informative post about Side effects of a transparent society for me...so thanks for your post bro.
Followed You...Please bro
Thanks

Well, that's an interesting question, if the percentage would be as high as 20% what possibly could society do to change that? Maybe our society is designed this way, to make everyone psychopaths? Witch hunting 20% of the population is hard to imagine. I mean, there would simply be too much to hunt, you know?

yaah ofcoures our are society going to react or cope with a potential reality where a larger than expected percentage of the population are exposed as psychopaths!
thanks for sharing with us!

From the word transparency, It means system without corruption with an incorruptible leader. This will affect the uncommon society positively as revenue distribution is carried out on a neutral platform.

Eem I think the transparency should continue as the world advances then later on as a result of the advancement, good measures to handle the situation will be ascertained

People live unaware of society. By a transparent society people become educated in life. There is a transparency and a lot of contribution to the society in order to increase human beings.

Decentralization & psychopathy, well this is something that i've never thought about... Time will tell... Anyway between slavery and freedom, i choose freedom for all...

I think everyone lives on a different point on the psychopathy scale, and is psychopathic towards different elements/beings in different ways, and most people exhibit signs of psychopathy towards many things. If the things that occupy the sphere of things one cares about is to be measured on a per person basis, we would find that empathy does not generally extend as far as we'd like to tell ourselves. I think this is inherently tied in with the concept that as living creatures it is a necessity of continued living that we must kill, or at the very least harness the energy of other beings, as we are not able to produce everything we need for ourselves.

Anyone who eats anything other than fruit is comfortable with the idea of killing living beings or consuming their flesh, so it's no surprise that this notion would evolve to killing the competition either directly or indirectly by diverting their resources towards yourself and those in your ingroup, as in the case of modern psychopathy that we were originally discussing.

Everyone is kind of a hybrid wolf/sheep, some people are more of one than the other depending on who they're interacting with at any given time. Transparent democratic institutions operating well are dependent on the sheep realizing who is actually acting in their best interests, and who is just pandering to them. We may never see a tipping point in cooperation winning out over competition before the dawn of artificial super intelligence, perhaps they will force cooperation on us, because I don't see the masses reaching the level of cooperation required to keep the psychopaths in check.

It is not possible that you can still look at the same perspective after you know the psychopath. The social order, the current power, all the current situation is changing. In fact, the phrase is sitting right there. He finds the answer to the question "why" that you can not understand and how you are very lucky. We live in a psychopathic system with each property:

The psychopath has a secret agenda, and it is up to the point where it will provide absolute control, it does not look nice, does not give relief, or hides its real purpose.
The psychopath makes a scribble campaign against everyone he thinks he will come before, slander and get rid of them.
When faced with psychopathic errors, it becomes aggressive, reflects, manipulates.
The psychopath always plays the victim. Easily network and even networks
In short, it is only a bottomless evil, fluffy, ridiculous but ridiculously real disease. Because of the many victims we have experienced in the past and today ... @dana-edwards

I think that psychopaths operate on a sliding scale within our world and while many are fortunate enough to have the skills to raise themselves up into 'powerful' positions, many too take their place among the normal men and women operating in everyday society. These are the ones that will surely be exposed by the introduction of a fully transparent society but I still maintain that those at the very highest echelons of society who have the most psychopathic tendencies in defense of their positions now and in future, would still manage to bypass the system and even come to control it as has always been the case.

I would also add that while it is a very difficult thing to prove as you say, it is pretty obvious to anyone with eyes that not only do some companies and agencies target specific individuals for their psychopathic tendencies, in a lot of cases the training of new employees of many organisations these days is done in such a way as to train them to into learned psychopathic behaviour. Organisations, for example, such as the Police, I would suggest. :(

Great topic. It is known that the wealthy hire the known violent psychopaths as political disrupters as they do a much better job than the average regular hired disrupter.

Hello, dear Dana, I am very glad I found your blog. There are many interesting posts.
I took workshops in criminal profiling. From what I was told there are about 21 % psychopaths in high business positions and around 7 % in the rest of the social ecosystem.
If we look exactly their most specific sides, one of them is that they are very hard to identify. They are not loud as the sociopaths, they are often not the boss, but his assistant who is adorably kind to all, or the neighbor asking if you need help with the shopping bags, their brains work differently. Many of them look like sweet ordinary people. Some humans have a psychopath's brain, but luckily don't get triggered and don't develop it in a dangerous way. To be honest, I think in the next 50 years nothing will change. What might change at some point in the far future could be brain scans already in kindergarten to see if some of the children have such a brain and treat them in a way to prevent possible dangers in the development.
Here a video of a psychopath child, who had very successful treatment and became a well functioning happy woman.
