After a long and tedious search, we finally found a local supplier of the manual brick press that the community has asked for, so that the students can start creating an adults skills training centre under practical training in Chicumbane, Mozambique, a rural area almost 200km (about 124 miles) from Maputo, their capital, and only city.
Until now, some of the board members and I have been funding things ourselves, but we have been limited with regards to the kind of training we have been able to provide. Which has mostly been open air classes, under trees in the bush on 2 week trips as funding and the climate allows.
Due to much encouragement and support from the online community that we have become part of, we have decided to launch our first fund raising campaign, to purchase a manual brick press for the community, along with a manual mixer as displayed below, to help them get started.
As a thanks to our donors, they will have the opportunity of having their name displayed on a brick in one of the walls that will be dedicated to those who helped us fund the community's dream of creating an adults training centre that will help them learn skills to improve their own lives through education and knowledge.
Obtaining the equipment is only the first challenge that we have to overcome. We would also like to help provide a steady supply of raw materials (cement, gravel, etc.) to build with. As part of the future ongoing campaign, each sponsor will also receive a NFT from a collection that we are currently working on, as an invitation and welcome to the online community.
We're looking forward to helping empower and enable rural African communities achieve financial independence through skills training with your help and support.
