Educating a child based on fear is not good for them. You stop creating someone capable of facing any kind of obstacle in life, to create a person who will become in the future someone insecure and incapable of acting with their own means, unable to live without support.
To know if your children are afraid or respect you, we will present some features to help you:
✴ Show your children that you have respect for them and teach them to respect others. How? Be the example. Treating your child well as well as everyone around will create an environment in which your children will learn to act correctly. Remember to always ask for things by saying please and thanking. This helps the child internalize this behavior.

✴Listen to everything the child has to say. Do not underestimate her comments or opinions. Show that what you think and feel is important to you. Thus, she will understand that you value her and, in addition, she will learn to value you too.
✴Be loving There is no better way to teach a child than to show affection towards them.
What attitudes should I avoid so that my child is not afraid of me?
To threat
Insult
Making children feel bad
Being intolerant
Punish constantly or without reason
Criticize negatively
Humiliate
Show hate
SOURCE
Always keep in mind that children are fragile creatures and they absorb everything that happens around like a sponge. If the environment is a violent medium, this will facilitate the incorporation of violent attitudes on the part of the child. If you expose your child to a place full of love and understanding, you will incorporate that environment.
In order for you to gain the trust of them, you must maintain a healthy coexistence at home, talk with your children, show understanding and affection. Remember that everything goes. If you are respectful to them, they will learn that, and they will be respectful to you.

If you have an authoritative, corrective attitude, if you usually do some of the things we advise you to avoid, your children are likely to feel more fear than respect.
