I’d like to take this opportunity to wish a very Happy Easter to all this blog’s Christian viewers. May what is the holiest time in your year be one of peace, family and fellowship.
If you are lucky enough to live in a land or a nation or within a culture that allows you to mark the death and resurrection of Jesus in peace, then give thanks for that for there are many Christians in this world who don’t have that luxury. Please spare a thought for the Christians living under oppression and in particular those Christians who live under the sort of oppression that despite its murderous nature does not make much of an impact in the West’s mainstream media or whose plight does not move the secular do-gooders to either action or even sympathy.
Please think and pray for the Christians under the lethal cosh of radical Islam in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia who are the victims, which number in their tens of thousands now, of an ignored or forgotten jihad that few speak about and even less are outraged by. Consider also the Christians in places with oppressive governments such as China or North Korea or those who live under governments like that of Turkey which are ambivalent about the social and cultural pressures that afflict their Christian minority.
If you are free than think and pray for the ones who are not.
May you have a blessed, thoughtful and meaningful Easter.
