"Eh, erm, huh? Ahhh, WHAT'D YOU SAY...??"

RRrrrriiight? It's a good one to start as soon as possible too, I know it can take some getting used to, the whole shoving tiny items into your ears thing... When I'm at an impromptu concert, or I've already lost mine, I wander around with a handful of tissue and start tapping people on the shoulder and pantomiming how I'd love to give them some to put in their ears. It's funny to watch the reactions ;)
