NOW IT'S TIME TO TALK ABOUT #DOLPHINSCHOOL BOOTCAMP!
Since I started on Steemit in 2016, I've been working to help others. As soon as I learned a new trick, I'd share it. I've always believed you never really own a concept until you can teach it, so I do it as much for my own benefit as yours.
That's where #DOLPHINSCHOOL came from. I figured I was a minnow and I wanted to be a dolphin. Then I was a dolphin, but still looking to help others develop and due to power down, I'm considered a dolphin again.
I'll try to make this simple.
Here's what I want to do. I'm offering a challenge to anyone with less 10,000 steem. I'll personally coach you to help you build an audience and grow your steemit business. Why do you want that?
- I've been publishing online since 1996, with over 5 million readers before steemit
- I write over a million words a year, every year, for ten years.
- I earn my living as a writer, ghost writer and corporate blogger
- I ran my own social marketing firm for three years 5 figures monthly
- I was a top 30 author for three months running here in summer 2016 and
- I am still earning good money, even with the platform being much more challenging.
I can't teach you to be whale. I haven't done that yet, but I can get you started!
Bootcamp will run for ten days
On each of those days, I'll post a tips post sometime before noon (my schedule is screwy, I'll try to get it done in the early morning.)
I'll start with introductory stuff, but each day there will be homework.
Homework Part A
Every day, you will be expected to:
- Upvote the dolphinschool posts on my blog (there will be two, so plan for it)
- Resteem the dolphinschool posts on my blog
- Participate in comments on the dolphinschool posts on my blog
- Tag at least one other user in your comments to invite them to join (a new invitee each day)
Understand, anyone can participate without completing all of these and get a lot of benefit, but will not be eligible for the rewards if they skip ANY of these.
Bonus points for encouraging other dolphinschool bootcamp attendees, upvoting them, resteeming them and leaving comments on their assignments.
Homework Part B
This will be on the morning post. I'll ask some questions and expect answers in the comments. They'll be designed to make you think about what you want here and how you can get it. If you want to participate in the rewards, you MUST do the work, all ten days. There will be no wrong answers, just be honest.
Homework Part C
This where it will start to pay off for YOU!
Each day, in the morning post, I will provide an assignment. It may be read a particular page or pages in the welcome guide, FAQ, or other. It could be to find and comment on a post that fits certain criteria, or use a new "steem tool" or just about anything you could do on the steemit platform THAT DOES NOT COST SBD or SP.
- None of the assignments will require you to pay in any way, other than with your upvotes, resteems, and comments.
- None of the assignments will ask you to do anything ethically, or morally questionable
- None of the assignments will be designed to take up more than an hour, under normal conditions.
Once you've completed the assigned tasks, you will be asked to publish a post on your blog, either outlining your experience and something you learned, or teaching others about what you learned, in tutorial style. You must include the tags #dolphinschool and #markrmorrisjr in your post tags to be eligible.
The best posts from each day will be featured on my blog, in the second dolphinschool post in the evening.
- I will use @ mentions, and links to your pieces.
- I will personally recommend your work.
- I will promote the post (free promotion) on steem chat and Facebook
- I will share revenue with the top authors that day from that review post!
That means you'll have the chance to earn a share in SBD for each of the ten days!
In the course of these assignments, you can expect.
- To learn more about the steemit platform than you do now
- To publish some great content on your blog
- To gain new followers
- To get upvotes and resteems
- Hopefully to earn a little SBD in the process.
In exchange for your time and support, I will
- Personally, or with the help of assistants, (if we get more than 20 students) visit each assignment post and comment. (I cannot guarantee an upvote for each post) with tips.
- Respond to every comment on the posts
- Answer any and all questions
- Follow every participants blog and leave comments, and upvote, as appropriate for quality content
- Give you positive support, the benefit of my experience, and mentorship.
- Promote you to my audience of 2500+ Steemians.

The only thing I won't do for those that can't do everything (especially the upvotes and resteems) is share revenue on the posts. I'll still promote and coach.

I can't say I'm too keen on the resteeming requirement as I was recommended against that pretty early on but it's ten days so what do I have to loose. Bring it on! Fingers crossed I can swim!
I am curious you said it was a ten day challenge but the data on the bottom of this post only identify until the 6th? 7 days not 10? Will it be going until the 9th?
BAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, those dates are wrong. I do have ten days planned. I'm so out of it. This is all coming together so fast. On the resteeming, let your regulars know that you're doing it. Just explain. I don't do it often and only stuff I believe in, but if I'm going to share any revenue,there has to be some to share. LOL

My main issue is the bandwidth limit exceeded warning. It hits me in the mornings and lets go at around 3:30 PM CST. I don't want to miss out on anything. I NEED to succeed in this frontier. My day job is horrible, and it's sucking the life out of me. Not only that, chemicals. Lots of chemicals. So it is literally sucking the life out of me. There will be no time limits. So, tell me what the deal is? When the site is busy they restrict you guys until you have your own SP? Is that right? When I came on, they gave everybody a gift of $3 SP, which was like 10 SP at the time, I think, or something like that. So, I'm not familiar.
I invested about $70 USD for SP last week (bad time since the price was high), it gave me 11SP and I have 3 delegated to me. It still shuts me down. My bandwidth runs anywhere from -20% to over -250%. I definitely think there's more to it than us posting too much content. I posted ONE small post yesterday and my bandwidth was fine. When I go to bed it's up around 80% or better, but when I wake up in the morning it is negative, and stays that way until well in the afternoon. So something is restricting us for other reasons. 1 small post, maybe 20 comments, and 6 or 7 upvotes and I still get restricted. Makes no sense to me. =\

Thanks for the link man. That is the link where I monitor my bandwidth. It fluctuates wildly when I'm not even on Steemit. Strange. Anyways, I am viewing this platform (and any opportunity I might get on here) as my chance to finally start living a little more closely to my ideal life. I will be as active as my bandwidth will allow! lol :)
Absolutely. I think it may be your bandwidth, combined with the traffic on the platform, because you're operating on borrowed steem. I might go sign up for a new account between now and the end of this to see if I can figure out some ways to work within that.

Do you have a plan for users with low SP? I would maybe be interested in signing up, but because my SP is low my bandwidth has been negative more often than not this week. I wouldn't be able to guarantee I can post when needed. -@bozz
Yeah, I need to educate myself and what you guys are up against there. There won't be any time constraints. Can you do two votes, two resteems, and one post each day? That's all we need for this. And, my assignments will be such that you roll them into whatever you want to write about, with a mention of dolphinschool, to promote it for those that don't get it yet.
That wasn't very clear. I'm planning the assignments so that, say you write about fishing, for example, you would write, "Steem tools to help spread my fishing blog" (horrible title, but yo get the idea) I don't want to take over your blog, just provide a framework for some different styles of post, based on what we're learning.

I'm sorry Bozz, I was actually thinking this was the dolphinschool post. Let me get you a link to this, because I think it's more use to you, than doing this. It's a more sure thing. I just read an article about the problem. I don't even understand it, because on our record day, the blockchain only had .13% strain, but maybe this is a separate issue. Hopefully, we can get you powered up enough to escape this issue. I've never run into it, ever. I can run all day long, write as much as I want, etc, and never, ever run into it.

Would you say that this would be good for any type of blogger? Or is it more focused on the tutorial/self help type blogs? I suppose what I'm asking is if this will be a good, relevant experience for someone like myself who is more of a creative writer/artsy/life blogger type.

You will be writing YOUR content. I don't want to hijack your blog. For instance, first day is tips on gaining ideal followers. Your assignment will be to write a post showcasing someone you want as a regular upvoter. By linking to their work and then letting them know you did. So, you're style is your style. I'm not going to program you. I may add suggestions, but the beauty of steemit is, it's an individual platform.

I got blessed by getting curated by a team on a post a long time ago that really gave me a boost in reputation. It's been a slow grind figuring it all out... and even with my invaluable, yet limited experience, you can never learn too much! Many of the basics are things I probably should get more familiar with before I try to grow beyond my own scope!
