Rhode Island and Massachusetts now have virtual power plants thanks to Tesla. By using the Tesla Powerwall, homeowners are able to sell their excess electricity back to the grid, reducing the need to fire up the coal power plants. This is another step in offering renewable energy to the grids. It also provides a small return to homeowners.
