Exogenous Development has failed us

Failure is an important part of life, as it helps us steer towards success. While failure can feel weighty, I find it important to view it also as a positive to show us which ways won't work.

Recently I have been quite inspired by Caitlin Johnstone, I first came across her on STEEM.

She doesn't have all the same ideas as I do, but she loves life and speaks as much truth as she knows how.

And one of the truths that has come out and become very clear to me recently is that its all circus and very little bread.

Why things stay the same no matter who's president

Here in Colombia, I have been observing what its like in a moderately marginal agricultural community. I have been asking some questions like

Why do people here earn less money than people in the United States?

and

If people are poor, why don't they 'do something else'?

One thing that is very clear is that most of the discussion around development talks about EXOGENOUS development, from our small community's perspective. That is, the development would come from somewhere else, like US or Europe, or even the capital of Bogotá.

The models come from outside and the money, if any, comes from the outside. And we are to receive. Do as we are told, apply the model, seek the funding, and replicate.

I think I have found the problem. The corruption is the system. Replication is not the answer.

Enter Endogenous Development

Going out to protest NO no NO no NO, is just the other side of EXOGENOUS development. We must demand our technocrat overlords treat us a little better, or send the funds to be distributed differently.

The problem is that this is reactive, and negative -- Without a positive, proactive solution.

But we are capable of proposing new ideas. New solutions.

We can define our future, can write our Destiny.

I for one cannot play this game any longer without plugging in my controller.

Each of our communities needs to write its own plan, written by its own people. We must federate smaller, and stop sending power to others, hoping to get some development.

We must develop ourselves.

Freedom and Friendship.

As long as people are willing and motivated to seek alternative solutions, there is hope for a better distribution of power and finances. Good game to play, I use a wireless remote 😉

if people are poor why dont they do something else :D sounds like some people i know ... i usually say "this is not america"
