I wanted something Irish for St. Patrick‘s day but don‘t care for Guinness from a can and my local grocer didn‘t have any Harp. So what‘s a (7%) Irish Lad to do? Well, I started scanning for anything Irish (not Dutch in a green bottle) and lo and behold I found something as Irish as pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars, and green clovers, something that embraces two great obsessions of me Celtic brethren: beer and death!
One of my favorite movie quotes comes from the film The Devil‘s Own with Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt. Ford‘s character is starting to suspect Pitt‘s character of having ties to the IRA and is asking a lot of questions. Exasperated, Pitt turns to him and says, “It’s an Irish story, don’t look for a happy ending.” I think that sums up the Irish perspective perfectly, as does my newfound friend with the skull and crossbones!
Now, I don‘t plan to be goin‘ down the pub but I will get a takeaway of corned beef hash and cabbage, fire up The Devil‘s Own on the tele, and crack open an Irish Death (or two) to celebrate that beloved Saint o‘ the Emerald Isle.
So sláinte mates! Here‘s to St. Patrick, #cwh, and #beersaturday !

Happy St Patrick's Day
And to you! 🇮🇪
I don't think I have any Irish blood, but my other half does. I didn't celebrate Paddy's day. I ought to get some Irish whiskey in anyway.
Cheers!

.Oh ya that is about as Irish as it gets. We all pretend we are Irish around this time of year but you are doing it right.
