The head of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), Agustin Carstens, again predicted a bad end for the crypto currency and called for an end to their release. The text of his speech is published on the official website of BIS.
In an interview with the Swiss media, Karstens expressed his conviction that they are "a nut shell, a bubble, a Ponzi scheme and an environmental disaster."
Carstens noted that cryptocurrencies can not perform the functions inherent in the fiat currencies.
"Activities related to the crypto currency, is an attempt to create money from nothing and is a common obsession. Stop trying to create money! "- said Carstens.
Agustin Carstens is known as a consistent critic of the Crypto-currency. Previously, he severely criticized bitcoin and other crypto-currencies as "nondescript technology and an inconsistent payment system."
