I think it would be quite sleazy to approve this ETF while denying the Winklevoss ETF barely a year ago. It just shows how government regulators are always coopted to protect the established participants.
I cannot see how a Bitcoin ETF is not positive in the short term as it broadens the available investor base and also protects them given custody solutions being out in place. Unlike when Futures were launched where mostly more experienced traders had access to the products which enabled them to sell short which had implications on both sides of the trade. ETF could add demand on the buy side immediately which will reduce the supply of Bitcoin available for sell.
Here's hoping for third time lucky! This is the real deal, none of that cash settled futures rubbish.
If it passes, it could herald the mother of all bull markets. Thomas Lee and his 28K predictions here we come... if it fails, then more blood to come. Either way, it's exciting stuff.
