The best way to avoid this type of scam is to only click links provided by official social media accounts of the company doing the ICO. Don’t click links from random reddit posts, don’t click links from people in Facebook groups, and definitely don’t click links from people who message you with a link to an ICO.

How to avoid crypto scams: use your brain

Thanks for share......
always success

helpfull thank you.

scam is big challenge this days spaciously on ICO

Well said and it is also good to just stick to coins that have the biggest market cap like bitcoin/ ether

Yeah. Nowadays there are many fake businesses offering lucrative deals. Here are a few steps to avoid them:

  1. Avoid ponzi schemes
  2. Avoid deals that claims to give you unexpected percentage of profits per day
  3. Don't believe businesses that claims that they are a registered company because company registration is not a big deal.
  4. Lastly ensure a thorough investigation of the company before investing your hard earned money
    Thank you

I must say your advice is a beautiful one. A lot of sites coming up these days, scamming people. Some people even create steemit accounts that look similar to that of upvote bots and that of whales, waiting for who to make mistake and transfer funds to them in place of sending to original source. We must really be careful, even here on steemit. @greatness96

Unfortunately scam is inevitable in this digital age but blockchain will bring a lot of transparency in the long term.

A whole new world of potential scams. As an auditor this will be something I'll investigate to help my clients as we move into direct transactions. Thanks for writing. I'd like to see a follow-on about what some of the things are that you have in your list.

The advice you shared are very wise and good for individual security.

Thank you. It is very helpful information. My friend already lost 3 Bitcoin due to hac

SCAM i guess is everywhere. all individual should play their part, not to reveal private keys and as such. AND of cox there is no 100% guaranteed nor SURE profit in investment. i would say most of the ICOs are high risk. do invest on what you are afford to lose. good luck.

Great article... one of the clearest and most profitable scam's currently in this space is Bitconnect.

Its a classic ponzi/pyramind scheme and whilst people may be profiting from it in the short-run, the moment the guys running it pull the plug then they will walk away with a lot of Bitcoins and a lot of people will get burned in the process unfortunately =(

No mention of these but I will say it: stay away from cloud mining and Bitconnect

There are no guarantees in Crypto but only endless opportunities, some guarantee returns are doing well brother, lets stay positive and nice advice!
