I am not the most technically inclined person, strangely enough, since I'm married to a Data Architect. You'd think some of that techy stuff would rub off, but alas, not so much. So, when I recently decided that I would put my crypto into staking coins while the market made it's corrections, I knew I was probably in for a mess of technical jargon and profuse sweating as I attempted to traverse github to acquire the proper wallets for my coins. After a losing battle with my abilities, I started looking around for an alternative and came across the wonder that is staking pools.
Pooling Your Stakes
Enter StakeUnited.com! I was a little leary at first with the idea of not having full control of my coins while they are being staked. However, there are quite a few highly trusted guys involved in StakeUnited. I joined their discord and realized that the community is highly involved and the Devs and Admins are approachable and super helpful. Everything is completely transparent as far as how it works and their roadmap for development. They are working, what seems like, 24/7 to make sure that their customers are well taken care of. I, personally, was pretty impressed.
They do have a great approach to staking as their goal is to make everyone the most profit. It does take a little effort to learn how it all works. When you deposit your tokens, first they have to mature just like in a regular staking wallet. Then, since StakeUnited does coin control once a day, you have to wait until the next coin control for your coins to be included in the staking pool. If you're an AERM coin holder, for instance, they hold the stakes for 2-3 days in order to increase the weight in the network which returns the most profit for coin holders. Once your coins are included in the stake they only process withdrawals after the stake. For most coins that means they process withdrawals once every 24 hours. For AERM during the superblock period it means they process withdrawals every 2-3 days after the stake. This can be a bit confusing at first for new folks coming in but once you get the hang of when they process things, it makes sense.

Masternodes Incoming
StakeUnited announced just this morning they are starting their Masternode program as well. Their first coin will be Ignition Coin (IC) and there is a 50 coin requirement to take part. They will add new coins to the Masternode pool once per week, on Sundays. If you plan to take part in the Masternode pool, be aware that they allow withdrawals from the pool on the second Sunday from the withdrawal request. For instance, if you request withdrawal on a Wednesday then it will be not the following Sunday, but the second Sunday when your request would process. Considering Masternodes are long term investments, that's not a bad deal at all.
The other benefit to using StakeUnited, as opposed to running a local staking wallet, is the major increase on profitability. I was able to start with a fairly small number of coins, just 2400 AERM to be exact, and after just 4 days I had earned another 877 coins from their staking model. There is no way I would be able to pull that from staking such a small amount locally. Each coin has a different return on investment staking model so that is something to consider when deciding which coins to stake. Also, I should mention that StakeUnited takes their small percentage in fees from the stakes, not the deposit, which I really like.
Getting into staking coins just as the market was making it's downturn was an excellent decision. Using a pool like StakeUnited made it super easy. If you want to learn more I suggest joining their Discord channel at https://discordapp.com/invite/3y5xdWw . There are always helpful Admins in the channels to answer any questions.
This is a current list of coins that can be staked at StakeUnited, but keep in mind they are adding coins by community vote, weekly!! So, it really pays to be involved in the community!
