有傳 Facebook 將於 6 月 18 日發佈其加密貨幣計劃 Libra 的白皮書，並會允許項目的員工把工資換成該加密貨幣。Facebook 將會與第三方合作提供節點，並授權管理其加密貨幣，而且為了保證第三方具備管理加密貨幣的能力，Facebook 或會要求第三方提供超過 1,000 萬美金作參與門檻。
Facebook 會將其加密貨幣融入到旗下服務當中，用家可以直接透過 Messenger、WhatsApp 及 Instagram 與其他用家進行交易，原意是希望可以消除信用卡付款或海外匯款之間的手續費，同時 Facebook 的加密貨幣會定性為穩定幣，將會與不同國家的貨幣掛鉤，不會像比特幣、以太幣等加密貨幣有明顯的價格波動。除此之外，Facebook 還計劃推出實體的 ATM 機，方便用家購買其加密貨幣，至於確實詳情仍有待官方公佈。
