Facebook has recently decided it will be block any advertising promoting crypto-currency products or services.Could this be another move towards adding #Crypto to Facebook? The Facebook team recently posted that they are open to emerging technologies but currently companies aren't acting in "good faith".
They've decided to intervene and block all posts for ICOs initial coin offerings -(pages encouraging people to buy into new coins before they launch while claiming future returns)#ICOs raise a lot money this way, they operate without the regulatory burden associated with raising cash though traditional investment channels.
Facebook said its new policy was "intentionally broad" and would evolve over time. It states: "Ads must not promote financial products and services that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices, such as binary options, initial coin offerings, or #cryptocurrency."
Under the new policy, advertising using phrases such as "New ICO! Buy tokens at a 15% discount NOW!" or "Use your retirement funds to buy #Bitcoin!" would not be permitted, #Facebook said.
This Decision is the latest attempt to protect the integrity of its advertising platform, which over the past few years has been under fire, this new idea may be seen as another move to show their control over content.
If Facebook does in fact integrate a crypto-currency into their platform (rumors exist about a #LTC integration) It would be in their best interest to only display their own crypto ads on the Facebook platform.
Wouldn't it.?
Too many people migrating from Facebook to Steemit hehe! Jokes aside, it is true that if they plan on implementing their own crypto, chances are they wouldn't publicly advertise other "competitors" on the website. Perhaps this is preparation before the news bomb that is coming!
