What is MediBloc?

MediBloc is a medical data platform that is developing it's own blockchain. It puts the control of medical data back into the hands of patients. The MediBloc platform also allows patients to share that data with relevant parties.

With MediBloc, patients can go to any doctor and give them full access to their medical records. This simplifies the medical process as well ensures that doctors have all the pertinent information needed to maximize the care they can provide to the patient.

MediBloc was founded by Dr. Allen Wookyun Kho and Dr. Eunsol Lee. The founders have a strong background in both medical and engineering fields. They are well equipped to execute a project of this magnitude.

MediBloc was born out of a need. Blockchain technology is the perfect solution to the problems that are currently plaguing medical record systems. The MediBloc team has decided to build their own blockchain because that will allow them to fully harness the power of blockchain without being limited to what existing networks offer.

Forbes named MediBloc as one of 10 Korean startups powering into 2018!

Current Medical Records Systems

Although medicine varies from country to country, in most cases, the data is very centralized. Medical data is also subject to stringent privacy laws which regulate how and who has access to the data.

This causes issues in the form of inefficiencies when it comes to patient care as well as prohibiting progress in data analysis.

Another important factor is the lack of digitization. Digital medical records systems are slow to be implemented and are not designed in a way that gives power over the information to the patient.

Medical Data & Research

Data analysis has been one of the most critical tools in developing revolutionary technology and solutions.

When it comes to medical records, due to the privacy laws, there is very limited access to data.

Since MediBloc gives patients complete power over their medical data, patients can choose to give permission to their health data.

This maintains the benefits of the privacy while also allowing users to contribute to critical research.

The institutions conducting the studies can choose to offer MED rewards in exchange for user data, and the users can choose if they wish to grant permission or not.

Medical data isn't just information, it is also a valuable asset.

Security

The centralized medical records systems can suffer hacks and attacks. They do not carry the same level of security that the blockchain has.

Using blockchain technology, MediBloc can ensure that the patients data is only shared with their permission.

Development & Potential

MediBloc is completely reshaping medical health data. In order to improve healthcare further, they offer an open-source API and SDK. These are tools that developers can use to implement new services within the MediBloc platform.

As the image above illustrates, developers can create applications that will cater to various industries from health tracking and insurance to the exchange of data.

MediBloc has already released SDK v0.1:

Check out the GitHub for the SDK here!

MainNet - MED & MEDX

MediBloc has two tokens, MED and MEDX.

Initially, the project was to be launched on QTUM (MED), but the MediBloc team has decided that it would be ideal to build their own blockchain in order to optimize their service!

Therefore, holders of MED were airdropped MEDX as well.

Therefore at the release of the mainnet, holders will get 0.5 MainNet coins per MED and 0.5 MainNet coins per MEDX.

The move to ERC-20 was to improve business versatility.

For more information on the MED & MEDX tokens click here!

Also, feel free to go to their Telegram and ask the team:

Account Flexibility

MediBloc offers users an unprecedented level of control over their medical data.

This is how the access levels are categorized:

The access levels are designed in such a way that family members and next of kin can make decisions on behalf of the data owner in case of emergency to make sure the data is accessible to medical professionals. Otherwise, all data is strictly controlled by the account owner, and institutions that wish to access the data must receive owner permission.

MediBloc Partnership & Listings

The MediBloc team has been extremely active since the ICO finished.

MediBloc Partnerships

MediBloc Partners

Companies as well as medical institutions are lining up to integrate their respective businesses with MediBloc's technology.

The partnerships include large medical institutions. Some are listed below:

Companies from other industries are partnering as well. Deloitte, an internationally recognized accounting firm has also partnered with MediBloc!

More Information & Resources:

Rules & Submission

  • Write an article about how MediBloc will change the medical data industry! What is the impact of people having full control over their medical records? How can this impact the way medical data is used in the medical field, and other relevant parties such as insurers and researchers? What is the effect of having established partnerships with major corporations on the integration of MediBloc once MainNet is launched? How is digital medical data storage on the blockchain superior to traditional medical data storage methods? As always, the topic is fairly open-ended, so be creative!

  • Feel free to use images and media from their website. You can even make your own video and have it in your submission! Videos have a chance of winning a separate bonus based on quality. Videos should be uploaded to YouTube. DTube or IPFS. Please do not remove the videos, or it might impact future eligibility. Feel free to make a new YouTube account for these. We really wanted to use DTube, but sometimes the videos were not view-able at all. We may change this in again in the future. For the time being please ensure whatever service you choose to use is working.

  • The article must be at least 250 words in length and it is recommended(not mandatory) that the length is under ~1500 words.

  • At least 70% of the submission must be original. Using "article spinners", and other word substitution tools is also not permitted.

  • All copied text must be in quotes.

  • Please keep discussions relevant to the contest topic. We would like to encourage a good vibe in the comments!

Hi, my entry:

Good luck!

here is my entry
medibloc2018
Mental health is an individual and personal matter. it involves a living human organism or, more precisely, the condition of an individual human mind. A social environment of culture may be conducive either to sickness or health , but the quality product is characteristic only of a person; therefore , it is improper to speak of a "sick society " or a "sick community." In speaking of a persons mental health, it is advisable to distinguish between attributes and action. The individual may be classified as more or less health in a long-term view of his behavior or, in other words, according to his enduring attributes.

Or, his action may be regarded as more or less health--that is, appropriate---from the viewpoint of single, immediate, short-term situation . Standards of mentally health, or

normal , behavior very with the time place, culture, and expectations of the social group. In short, different people have different standards. Mental health is one of many human values; it should not be regarded as the ultimate good in itself....medibloc2018
