Climbing Leonidio!

in #climbing7 years ago (edited)

I have recently (December) been to Greece, for a short climbing trip to the upcoming climbing destination Leonidio, and it is an amazing place! The food, the people there and the weather, all of those could not have been better!
And of course: Some superb climbing!

Morning view from the terrace...

Tons of developed sport routes in all grades from beginner to super hard, and still so much potential for new routes!!
As an enthusiastic but moderate climber I could stay there for ages and never run out of projects...

And there are several multi pitch routes as well, up to about 250m long!

Such a nice view from the top!

There is definitely some potential for bouldering as well, I didn't check out any bouldering spots though (this time at least)

Leonidio is just awesome, this has definitely not been the last time I've been there! :)

Pretty rad! How long did it take you to get up Mira? And how is the difficulty distributed between the pitches?

Mira took about 3 hours I would say, difficulties of the pitches are:
6a+, 6b, 6b, 6b, 6a+, 6a, 5c, 5c
I will definitely follow your blog! Stoked to be part of this new community :)

Quite consistent, that's just perfect! One more reason to go to Leonidio. :-)

Thank you, I hope you'll like it.

So far, the welcome has been pretty damn good :)

Awesome story. I haven't done any multi-pitch climbing yet, but I'm hoping to do my first few adventures this summer. Beautiful photos -- the view you manage to get from the top is great! Keep it up!

Hey man,
climbing multipitches is great!
It feels great to go to a cliff / mountain, start climbing at the bottom and going all the way to the top, not after one pitch...
For the start you probably should look for some well protected climbs, going trad is a whole new level mentally.
All the best for this year, I hope you will have some great adventures!
