Is it time to be in "Panic Mode"? I was scrolling through Steemit this whole weekend and I see fear in the streets of people complaining about the cryptocurrency markets falling. π±
Should I buy, Should I sell..... "What Should I Do Charles, Help Me" I find these types of questions very amusing at times. ππ€£
If you are a "Real Investor"... price swings should never matter if you're in it for the long run. When investing in anything, pick your buying positions. That's all you have to do.
When I seen Steemit platform about 60 days ago, I wrote out a game plan to buy Steem anywhere from $.50-$2.20 picking up positions every week regardless of the price. πΈ
The reason I did this is because I believe in the platform so much and that it will reach about $10 in the next 6-12 months. When that time happens, I plan to take some Steem off the table. π€
"WOW Charles, Are you planning to sell if it goes up to $10? Isn't that a bad influence to your fellow followers on Steemit?" π
Not Exactly, When selling my Steem when it reaches my price target of $10... I only plan to sell about 13% per week, however my value of my account will not drop.Β
Let me explain, during that time... I plan to post daily and curating heavy at that time, creating more Steem power and SBD dollars to replenish what I took out. π¬
This is the reason, I don't care what the price is today... I don't plan to sell any time soon. As the price dips, Those are major buying opportunities for me and to my fellow Steemians! ππΌ ππΌ
Let me ask something... Do you have a game plan?... or are you just going day by day looking at the price of Steem and panicking?Β π
I believe that is just a waste of time... Instead of watching the charts everyday,Β start creating great content and invests the money you create into large amounts of Steem. π

I agree, I was picking up in the last 60 days, as low as possible, and still buying.

The primary problem I see with the platforum is that new users will have little to no motivation to use a platform that won't reward them (even though it would be technically possible, it's not really feasable for most regular users to earn). There are also limitations with the site functionality that stand in the way of mass adoption. I'd love to see it work, I just have doubts.
I share these doubts especially with the vote power issue where people with hogh SP keep the power for themselves and don't help anyone else which causes a lot of people, present company included, to post a lot less than they used to. Its really unmotivating to get $1.50 on a post you spent an hour or two to research cite and post and see 30 people see it and only five upvote it and even then only at 1%. I always vote with 100%. If we got rid of self voting and made each upvote equal the platform would do A LOT BETTER! Great reply and Steem-On my friend, even though HF19 caused some trouble. But on the good news eSteem the app is getting a lot better. Not there yet but there is hope and I think a lot of people invested mentally into the platform. We can easily overtake Twitter and Instagram if done correctly. And no Censorship! No Ad-pocalypse!

Well, the platform is only 1 year old, so yes, the people that started a year ago are doing well... I am going to keep trying it for awhile. I believe I will be here in a year. I've started to move some of my other coin here, so I'm not planning on quitting anytime soon. Still, spending a lot of time on a post and "earning" .50 is really bad. I get bigger adsense clicks than that.

Just keep calm, use Steemit as before and keep earning till the tide turns around again. All the Steem you earn these days can become valuable in the future. Enjoy your time at Steemit while earning and over the long run it will be (probably) very rewarding!

Agree 100% and i like your buy and sell position strategy. Crypto trading is a business and you need to take the emotion of of it to be successful.
Steemit as a platform is going to be huge - just look at all the new users this month - that's why I feel confident about accumulating STEEM during the dips. Steemit investors will be rewarded big time in the near future!

I have been here since last September and plan on continuing to do what I do. I love this platform, corrections are always a healthy thing for something building a solid foundation. This is part of the process and an opportunity to get more steem all the way up. It's all good right @stackin we are enjoying this wonderful experience. Steeming on!!!!

The entire altcoin market is sinking because everyone is withdrawing their bitcoin from exchanges in anticipation of the Aug 1st UASF fiasco. As a result, much less buy support and buyers in general on the major exchanges.

It is good you have a game plan for sure! Once a person gets to a point where they can pay themselves the minimum threshold that makes doing a post "worth it" to them it would be a great feeling. It takes so much pressure off hoping it gets seen.

Great post and strategy. I also see STEEM hitting that target in that timeframe. When we had that dip last week or two weeks ago and everyone was panic selling I was buying just like I am buying Physical Silver right now. With STEEM I bought in at rhe start with $20 and it was worth like eleven cents. Should have dropped a bill and powered up but lesson learned. With Physical Silver I was buying at $20 and then when it dropped to $17 and everyone was going crazy talking anout selling everything. I even had a friend of mine who sold me his entire stack of around 40oz for under spot and even a few grams of Gold under spot and am now very happy that I did not have to pay any online premium to get that metal in my hands. I definitely see STEEM going up but still think the platform needs some key improvements to go mainstream. Encryption and the entire concept will be very foreign to a lot of people. I ppan on making a video and posting it here and on YouTube to help others get an account and start posting and investing so we should get some price hump when that hurdle is overtaken. The platform has a lot to offer and I think if the devs do it right STEEMIT will be here for years to come and that $10 we will blow right past and could hit $20 or higher in the next year as you get panic buyers drunk on FOMO. And totally agree with your plan of selling off new earnings and making sure you earn while you are divesting and taking profits. That is the best way to go. As someone who does not put in cash into the platform how do I earn the most in curation? Simply Resteem or is there something else I should be doing? I prefer leaving comments to posting but do both. Just wondering your thoughts on the matter. Just got over 300+ followers today so I am psyched! About to hit 1,000 posts as well! My main focus is on steadily creating helpful content, networking with the big dawgs through commenting and sharing content, stacking some Steem, some Bitcoin and taking it from there. Like any venture, cowering to your fear over daily fluctuations/changes is an amateur hour mistake. Gotta have a vision to make things happen over the long haul.

Just bought some steem a few minutes ago at $1.52 each. The real question for me is should I buy some TENX which was selling for $10 a couple of days ago and now it's selling for $0.85 with potential to go back up.

Price dips like this are the perfect opportunity to invest. The masses will panic when they see drops like this thinking "omg, I'm gonna lose so much money", instead of thinking "omg, I can invest and get more for my money, then sell later at a higher price."

The crypto markets will rise and fall day to day and week to week. I agree those fluctuations aren't important as long as key metric like new Steemit users continues to climb. Content is king!

Well, if you are investing on a regular basis (which you are if you're doing it weekly) then the price is actually completely irrelevant (Okay, unless maybe it 10x rapidly, but then you;d already hit your mark anyway so it would not be buying time ;) ).
This is easy math (Okay, maybe not that easy :D But it's math anyways :D). On average you will even earn more by regular investing regardless of the variation/fluctuation as if you were "waiting" for the right price, even if you will be buying for higher later down the road as the price keep going up.
It might be counter-intuitive but it's true :)
This all makes sense to me, trying to explain to 90% newbies here about that haha... there all emotional :)

(Though I used to play poker profesionally so a small part of me actually genuinly finds it weird :that more people don't understand randomness and get emotional about their losses, and even wins :D )

From a real trader's perspective, this is an excellent post and deserved the upvote. You have a clear plan for the position that you're building and you have planned for price changes so aren't going to either panic sell or worse, turn your red trade into an 'investment'.
ALWAYS have a plan for what you're going to do with a position for all price scenarios. Up, down, sideways.
NEVER turn a losing trade into an investment. It is nothing but a losing trade, you just didn't follow your plan.

Since I have not much stake in cryptocurrencies and even with the little I have, I'm holding for the long term so as you mentioned it doesn't affect me much although I must admit that it's still painful to see what I have deplete in value. On the same note, this also seems like a good time to pick steem and others up at a what some might call a sale. Yes, I also believe in Steemit and in a certain way think that it's only a matter of time that steem will rise in value.

I'm not really at a point where I have a huge investment in steem, but I feel like it is really going to grow as a platform and if you believe that then you should keep investing in it. When I talk about it to friends they love the idea of it, but I think the learning curve and unfriendly posting interface needs to be refined before it really takes off in the United States.
If they can't learn this and take a day by challenging themselves, they would of already quit weeks down the road lol Keep on stackin :)
