Promises made, promises kept: a new loan for Team Steemit

in #charity7 years ago (edited)

In my last post about Kiva and Team Steemit on Kiva.org I made a pledge to put the entire SBD payout from that post towards my next loan on Kiva.

Well, promises made, promises kept:

This loan will help Wildor, a hard-working entrepreneur and a father of three (two boys and a girl) in Haiti to open a small workshop to make bricks that he will later use to build more efficient and clean-burning clay stoves. The stoves will benefit his customers, saving them money on fuel and saving their lungs from smoke that usually comes from older open-fire stoves, and saving the environment by burning less fuel and emitting less smoke. A triple win for people, pocket and the planet!

You can read the entire story of Wildorlend as little as USD $25 to Wildor – or anyone else you choose yourself to support – and join the Steemit Team. and his new enterprise on Kiva’s website: https://www.kiva.org/lend/1336059 You can even

Because, in the end, even you cannot change the entire world, you can still change the world for one person:

I hope that you will decide to do it today.

Very cool! Welcome to the team, happy to have more Steemians among our ranks! :)

Thank you.

I just joined the Steemit Kiva team, I was wondering if you can help me feed the kids, look at this post: https://steemit.com/education/@raserrano/crowd-funding-to-feed-the-kids

Great initiative :)

Thank you! Hope you will join it. :)

Kiva is a reputable site & service. I also gave many loans through them in the past. Good find Oleg, nice you're using them : )

Oh, wonderful to read this! I’ve been a lender on Kiva since 2009 and I did a fellowship programme with Kiva last summer, when I served as a Field Fellow in Tajikistan, working with Kiva’s three local partners among the country’s micro-finance institutions, MFIs. It was a great experience and it only reinforced my faith in microloans as a solution to poverty alleviation and in Kiva and its mission.

I hope you will join our team on Kiva.org too! ;)
