Making Mistakes

MISTAKES

Mistakes

I had been trying to avoid mistakes since the first time I accomplished something huge.

But I wasn't doing it on purpose. It's like there were only commands from behind my consciousness.

And these commands - if they were thoughts, I'm calling them barricade thoughts for blocking a part of me.

But something awesome happened three nights ago.

I broke free!

I joined a community of public speakers for the first time.

At first I thought I was only there to observe. But the impromptu speech session happened and the host asked for volunteers to answer one of his questions.

The other members were rooting for the newcomers. Some of them started to call me out.

So I stood up and went to the front, shocked of my spontaneity.

And then I did Impromptu Speaking..

..my speech was rather short, and the duration was relatively long because of all the pauses. There was no doubt that I made a mistake.

After my ending phrase, I shook hands with the questioner and then returned to my chair as I heard their cheers and hand-clapping.

But I sat feeling happy despite the flaws.

It was like a part of me was drawn out from suffocating water. It felt like I reopened a door from the past.

To anyone who are like me before what happened 3 nights ago - always overthinking, stressing himself. Try what I did and then let's share stories.

After all...
