Hello everyone, today I bring you my review of cobra kai the new series of youtube red
this series works as a sequel to the original trilogy of karate kid only this time
Instead of following the story from the point of view of the protagonist Daniel Larusso, we enter the life of Jhonny Lawrence the antagonist of the first movie of karate kid, who now takes the leading role.
Johnny currently leads a fairly mediocre life has problems with alcohol, he's divorced,
his son thinks he is a loser, and as if all that were not enough, it seems that he has not been able to overcome having lost that end of the karate tournament more than 30 years ago.
On Daniel's side things seem to be better, Daniel is now a successful luxury car salesman, has a beautiful wife and two children, but even though he could be considered a successful person, the character finds it difficult to find the balance in his life after the loss of his master Mr. Miyagi.
The conflict of the series appears when Johnny lost his job, and after saving a young man from some guys who were making him bullying decides to reopen the cobra kai dojo to teach the old school karate to the city's kids, this obviously does not fall well to Daniel who will do everything in his power to close the dojo forever reviving in this way the old rivalry between the two characters.
I think Kai cobra is not a perfect series but it is a promising series, since the fans of karate kid will like it as much as the viewers who never saw any of the original movies, This is also due to the introduction of new characters such as Miguel the disciple of Jhonny or the daughter of Daniel whose stories can capture a younger audience.
On the other hand if you are a fan of karate kid you should definitely see this series because you will find a lot of references to the original movies, and besides that is that in the flashbacks they show us planes never before seen of the original films that were not in their final assembly and that are now reused to deepen new aspects of the plot.
in spite of everything, the series has more heart and quality than you would expect, so without saying more, I recommend Cobra Kai and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
