Hi there,
this is a futuristic car from automobili Lamborghini the car manufacturing company. let’s start by translating the name, the 'terzo millennio’ means ‘third millennium’ so it simply means this car’s design and technology is of the third millennium.
The design of the body is simply astonishing. Lamborghini had to join hands and ideas with guys from MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to create this beauty.
Now lets get into what makes this future concept car unique.
The body
The body panels are entirely made from carbon fiber composites. These body panels are fitted with sensors and nano-tubes that can repair it self if the sensors detect any small crack and dents in the body panels. It has got its own health system.
It still has some of the old Lamborghini traits like the Y-shaped head lights and the rear engine bay.
The ride height is very low, the design is to make it as aerodynamic as possible. It sit a few centimeters above the ground. I think and believe this would improve its speed and handling around corners during racing.
The powertrain
It is said that it would be fully electric. Having four electric motors one at each rim making it an all-wheel drive vehicle. This will give the car maximum torque. This torque is set by computers to give all wheels stability like a modern formula 1 car.
The engineers at Lamborghini and the professors and students of MIT want to do away with ordinary batteries used. Now they want to use high-capacity supercapacitors in lieu of batteries. These rapidly stores energy and rapidly discharges energy at high levels. They have been engineered to simultaneously capture and release energy, this increases the performance of the car.
Autonomous system
It is said that it would feature an on board driving robot that would teach a real(human) how to race around a race track. But first of all the ‘terzo millennio’ self-driving robot would take the car around the track without any mistakes before it does the teaching.
The numbers have not been released yet. That is the top speed, the torque, the electric capacity of the super capacitors, the 0 to 60mph time, the milage to electricity.
But I personally think it would set a stardard for future all electric super cars. You can read more about it at the lamborghini homepage.
honestly, 0-60 in under the max now what is what, 2.3 for a GTR is impossible with normal street tires on it. It would need to have some fat boys on the back to really show what it can do because with tires just spinning that fast, not enough HP is actually connecting!
Great post.
It's good to see Lamborghini working on these types of cars for the future.
Yeah
Stunning car there the lambo, looking out for more from you.
