The weather here is almost right to stir off a batch of peanut brittle to have for our family gatherings. My mom always made it, and while I helped her ever year I still had to learn the art of pulling it out thin.
It takes a large cast iron skillet some refer to at a "chicken fryer" to stir a batch off. I almost have to have someone here with me when it's time to pour it out one to hold the skillet and one to scrape it out.
I know if I manage to get a batch made my brother will be a happy camper when he comes to visit during the holidays.
Now, if only I could master my grandpa's fudge recipe! It's either sticky or crumbly!
