Make sure you use 2 SBD+ and not STEEM and the post isn't older than 6 days.You can send 2 SBD+ to @buildawhale with the post you want to promote in the memo field.
You can use @upmyvote as well with only 1 SBD and @ipromote with 0.500 SBD.
All three are listed on the steembottracker.com website.
